I played the Pyromancer in Outriders as well, it was fine, but the game really started to shine while playing coop, and having your abilities stack with a friend. Enemies/bosses have a tougher time overwhelming you if you have a friend warping in as a trickster, and fucking them up with void? energy, while you ignite/explode them with flames. The story/writing/voice acting, is adequate, it's not terrible, it does what it needs to.
Regarding live games, or games as a service: those developers expect you to continue paying them for the game, after the fact, either with a subscription, or for more content that they drip out. Outriders feels like the Kingdom of Amalur of 3rd person action adventure games. Designed like Destiny/Division, seemingly has all those trappings, but the developer is like, naw just pay us for the game, and that should be good. There's also crafting, which isn't in the demo, but they do have you collecting mats.
I know Amalur was supposed to be an MMO, but they had to pivot. Not sure if Outriders was supposed to be a live game or not, but the developer has only said so far that it wasn't. We may have stories trickle out post-launch, though, who knows.
The problem with having nothing else planned, content-wise, post main game, is that people seem to like blowing through games as fast as possible these days, and then complain when the endgame is broken or incomplete. So we'll see how this goes.
Best Buy Canada def sells a whole lot a shit from random third party suppliers. You can filter to show everything, or just stuff sold by best buy, and then also what is actually in a store you can go grab, if you don't want to wait for shipping.
Thirty hours in Cyberpunk since launch, Level 20/32, no issues so far, looks & runs beautifully. Having a fucking blast. Some good mods rolling out too, which is interesting, and this is just the beginning.
Edit: Seemingly under-leveled, because I was able to pick up a Rift S for cheap, about a week before CB unlocked, had to take a break from Alyx (just came back to it today), but also, I think this Walkabout Mini Golf game is on my Top10 for the year.
