@AlisterCat: I guess I just want them to present lesser known games that are actually worth playing. All the others, while I had never played them, seemed like decent games. Considering the catalog of Sierra games, it is hard for me to understand the choice. Alas, I might just want someone to finally validate my love of the Gabriel Knight series and graphic adventures in general. I guess they'll be able to make it entertaining, though.
I have to say I'm kind of worried about this one. This game is awful... and boring. I can hardly believe they picked an FMV game that isn't an adventure. I only hope that Vinny and Dave find some way to make it funny.
From the text of that review I expected a 6. It seemed like he was disgusted with the nature of the game. I don't really care, though. I'm still buying it day one, because it seems like everything I want in an action game.
Leisure Suit Larry, Police Quest, and Space Quest would all be great with new art in HD, but the best Sierra adventure game will always be Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers. It blows everything else in the genre away and really deserves an HD remake.
Given the positive reception of the Random PC Game Daggerfall (and Daggerfall Part 2) videos with Dave and Vinny (among members anyway), I was thinking of giving Dave and Vinny some ideas. If they decide to do something that is not Daggerfall for the next one I would suggest an adventure game, specifically a Sierra adventure game, specifically The Colonel's Bequest. It would be so god damn fun to see Vinny and Dave solving a mystery together. Post your ideas and try to keep the subscriber non subscriber stuff in the Daggerfall video.
I think a Sierra adventure game would be great, but I think one that is fully voiced would work better... like, say Gabriel Knight? But I do hear good things about those Laura Bow games.
I really liked Brutal Legend (thought the save game glitch makes it nearly impossible to platinum), absolutely love Full Throttle and Grim Fandango(and find Tim Schafer nearly god-like because of them), and mildly enjoy the first two Monkey Island games, so hopefully Ron Gilbert and Tim Schafer can create something that satisfies my need for the classic '90s adventure game. I'm not going to hold my breath for that, though.
I haven't played an EA NBA game extensively since Live 2001, but i found the controls in the demo a good extension of the right stick controls in that game. Granted, I've never been able to get used to the right stick in 2K NBA games. Elite definitely needs work, but I think it could be the premiere NBA game this year. I still don't care much about sports games, but I was more into it than the 2K11 demo.
