Hm. Yeah, seems like he's around, at least...

Sankis, did he ever reply to your initial message?

Unlike the others, Akyho doesn't seem to be present at all... if he doesn't respond in some fashion by the end of his 7 days, I think we should immediately move on to the next guy.

Huh, just noticed the dwarf runes on the signup page. Can't seem to figure out what they say, though - some runes don't seem to appear in the dictionaries, and the rest are gibberish. Sankis, did you put them there, or were they already in the image you found?

Zombie's screenshots place his turn as year 57, so you should be on the correct year, about ten months left to go.

As for appraisal, just nominate some idle schmuck as the broker and do a lot of trading. Unload a billion stone mugs if you have to, that'll help. Dwarf Therapist might also help you find out if anyone already has appraisal skill.

I am in full agreement, these have been really evocative. These last two especially. So much despair.

There's going to be a lot of really hardy dwarves if they can get past these times.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, eh?

...unless it leaves you with fewer limbs.

...or gives you a life-threatening infection.

...or drives you insane.

I am increasingly of the opinion that nothing good ever comes from the overworld. Do we have indoor farms now? That might be all we need to be self-sufficient.

I think I said this before, but I've never seen a fortress die while the current player remains active, only when he/she disappears entirely. So I think it would be fine if we said something like, as long as you are still around and posting updates (whether on the game or your ability to play the game), we'll probably be fine with it.
