GOTY 2015

  • Humour is the hardest thing to do well in Video Games and this is EASILY the funniest game I've ever played. Instant classic.

  • This game is up there with the greats of the Western RPG genre - makes me wish I had marathoned 1 and 2 when they first came out as well.

I enjoyed all 68 hours of my playtime thoroughly.

    Also, Gwent.

  • The single best unfinished game ever made. Loved it.

(for me its sits at 4th place for the series - 1/4, 3, 5, 2)

  • As an old shield die-hard, I love the way this Souls forced me to change it up. The setting is also my favourite of the series.

The only huge drawback, and the reason it isn't my overall favourite amongst the Souls games, is the extreme lack of build diversity potential (stripped down magic system, few weapons, etc).

  • I'm unashamed to say that I really like this game. There's terrible stealth sequences, the gunplay isn't fantastic and it's incredibly linear, but...

Well, I like cinematic games. Metal Gear, The Last of Us, etc. This sure isn't in their league, but I really like what they did with the storytelling and the cinematography - the score isn't bad either, and overall (though lacking a true payoff), the plot is pretty darn fun. Almost comic-booky in its execution and pacing.

Oh, and this was easily the best looking game (technically speaking) I had seen at the time - however what really lets it down is the fluidity of some of the animations which stand out quite a lot when contrasted with the fidelity of the actual visuals. I could go into some of the great art design too, but I’ll leave it there.

If you like cinematic games and don’t mind some rough edges, this game is right up your alley.

  • What Sim City should have been - totally engrossing whenever I pick it up.
