I believe if there are less resistant blocks nearby, they will absorb all of the explosion. I've had them detonate inside of an all-graystone structure and I believe since there was nothing else to take the force, a single block popped out of place directly beneath the creeper. Graystone is pretty nice.

@weeman105: Oh man, we should totally build a Louisana Bayou backwater town at some point with all of the houses up on stilts a la Left 4 Dead 2. And perhaps MORE water...

@Massif: Yeah, I've lost plenty in there to creepers, cave spiders and lava, but something inside me just loves getting lost in the twisting caverns and discovering new ravines, lit only by the natural lava falls and shrouded in fog. Then the resulting relief when you finally find another natural exit, or a stairway to the surface carved by another traveller. It is all very fantastic.

Also, if there is anything else that I can provide for the wall-building efforts, I would be more than happy. I'm putting aside most of my grey brick to build my castle, but I would be happy to donate coal for smelting or iron for tools. The abandoned mineshafts are lousy with iron and coal it seems, so I've been spending a lot of time down there stripping them out.

The city is coming along so nicely, I'm sorry I haven't been an incredibly active participant in it, I've been too distracted by the Mountains of Madness and the secrets within...

75 whole megabytes huh? We've got some work to do.

I believe Eldrin was discussing an idea with me, and if it has not been further discussed with everyone else it definitely should be. The Quest Board would serve to allow people to place requests for items that they need, locations that they would like scouted out, tasks to be completed, etc. and offer a set reward for completion of such tasks. Maybe you have some spare diamonds lying around and you really just want a big chest full of stone, put your request up on the Quest Board and upon completion, pay the reward. It would encourage the community to help each other out and get involved with each other. We've got a lot of new faces around the server it seems, and these would be a good opportunity for new members to make a name for themselves and for old members to make new connections.

I'm not sure if we would want this to be at a central location in town, or on the message boards. Anyway, it has my official stamp of approval.

So, I've got this kind of a thing going on now. Perhaps it will become a giant mushroom, perhaps it will just be Mushroom Lighthouse. We shall see.

@Marnox: My belly thanks you. My mining endeavors were interrupted several times yesterday by the need to hunt cows and piggies.

Hunting parties, cooks, stonemasons, etc. may be needed to help organize foodbanks, walls, etc. to keep a central location safe from mobs and filled with resources. Yesterday I locked down a masonry depot with a decent mine so that I may begin stockpiling cobble, stone, and grey brick for use in any efforts to wall off the city to keep the mobs out. Anyone is welcome to use the facility, there is a sizable natural cavern that I have yet to fully explore at the bottom of the shaft, feel free to snag anything that you find down there, just watch out for creepers. They like to lurk in the unlit portions of the cave.
