A teenage boy believed to be at the center of the Minecraft gamers' dispute has been detained following an attack on a massive bomb shut down hundreds of schools and colleges across the UK.
Hertfordshire police detained the 19-year-old after 24,000 threatening emails to schools were warned of a bomb attack and soliciting cash.
The emails were spoofed to look as if they were sent by a gaming platform called VeltPvP. VeltPvP is an Minecraft player-versus-player server, of the kind that companies make use of to sell their products to gamers.

The emails were intended to cause the domain to be suspended because of abuse. They they are believed to have been sent by an organisation that was trying to discredit VeltPvP.
The National Crime Agency (NCA), stated that there was no evidence of threat to the emails that were received this week.

They acknowledged that they were aware of the concerns of teachers and parents, but stressed that there was not a credible threat from the emails that were sent to schools.
'However we are taking the communications extremely seriously. Since this is a live investigation, we cannot comment further.'

The dispute was based on the notion that rivals were involved in illegal activities to stop each other from doing business.
'It is horrible It's not the best thing', one of the hoaxers who were involved in the scam stated when asked if he regretted the effect the letters had had on school students who were forced to leave.
Placing the blame on VeltPvP the hoaxer claimed that the network was involved in a campaign of Direct Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, which he claims were employed to try and block other rival Minecraft servers.

VeltPvP released a statement saying that they were being harassed and harassed by cybercriminals.
We're very sorry for everyone who had to deal with this, but just know it's fake.'
More than 400 colleges and schools across the nation received the email which claimed a bomb had been planted and would explode in the event that cash wasn't given.

Police forces from London, Bristol, Liverpool and Bedfordshire were among those who were questioned.
Parents at a few schools asked to to pick up their children amid fears over the emails.
Six schools across Hertfordshire were also among those affected: Abbots Hill in Hemel Hempstead, Valley School in Stevenage, The Sele School in Hertford, Duncombe School in Hertford, Stanborough School in Watford and St Albans High School.
