Something I haven't seen here in the comments yet:

Feats and equipment don't do anything in duels or brawls (the 1v1 and 2v2 modes).

Those modes are strictly "skill" based, no cheese from stats or anything. A level difference causes no disadvantage. Also, all the feats and gear you unlock only augment your character. It's not like they dramatically improve anything. They're just there so you can tweak your playstyle a little.

Another thing, the microtransaction stuff seems completely harmless, honestly. If you folks are so taken aback by that type of stuff, you might as well pretend that video games are dead and no one is making them anymore. Don't take that as me being standoffish, I can't honestly say I'm a huge fan of a game asking me to spend more money on it. But by just doing your dailies, you can get 600 steel a day. That means every week you can, at the bare minimum, recharge your "champion" (boost) status, if you want. I'd personally recommend it. All the cool looking gear comes after you hit 1st reputation (1st prestige, aka level 21), so it's handy to power through those early levels. So unless you're a real sucker for cosmetic skins (which are mostly just paint jobs), there's nothing demanding you pump additional cash into the game. That being said, $40 for season pass is a HEFTY chunk of change, especially since it's just early access to characters. I wonder if they'll Rainbow Six it by making the new heroes cost 10x the amount of regular heroes, essentially telling non-season pass owners to shove off. At least you'll be able to play as them without unlocking them, I guess.

There's a pretty big difference in the PC and console versions, also. PC is 60fps, the menus are way snappier, the network stuff seems smoother (still rough in places), and the load times are a fraction of what I'm seeing here. Not a gigantic issue, by any means, but if you have the option I'd say get the game on PC. Kind of a shame that the PS4Pro is getting held back by the regular PS4 and XBONE.

One thing I will say, the matchmaking seems wonky. I don't necessarily know if it's been around long enough yet for players to have an appropriate "skill" ranking. That stat is definitely hidden from the player, but one of the matchmaking options refers to it, so there must be some sort of skill tracking. Sometimes you'll do alright, other times you'll get creamed. Not much you can do.

Overall, I agree 100% with the crew. I had absolutely zero interest in this game until I played the beta, and I was honestly shocked by how much fun I had. Knights 4 lyfe.
