Honduras have really let themselves down here. I'd rather lose 4-0 and attempt to play some form of football than lose 3-0 and continually try to injure my opponents.
@leebmx: Pat Nevin gained the nickname 'The Professor' when he was once found by his teammates to be reading a book in the dressing room. Maybe he's buying into the idea of being the intellectual pundit a bit too much
@phili151: The inability of an idiot like Keys to recognise that was a goal perhaps does support his point that it is indeed not fool proof.
Outstanding performance by Holland. Just one of the most enjoyable matches I've watched in a long time - a couple of sensational goals and incredible incisive counter-attacking football. Can't wait to see how the Spanish respond in that Chile match. Let's hope the World Cup continues to deliver on the great entertainment so far.
@leebmx: Completely agree. Modric has an incredible ability to retain possession - even when he's being pressed you always have confidence he'll emerge with the ball.
Haha, yeah - the excitement is great! I almost wanted to start filling in a World Cup wall chart!
Croatia can count themselves a little unlucky there. That was a very soft penalty and on another day with another ref, that disallowed goal might have stood. Still, it's a good thing for the tournament for the host nation to get off to a good start (the pressure on that team must be absolutely crazy). I'd worry about the midfield if I were a Brazil fan - they seemed unable to function properly to give a solid enough platform for their attackers (Neymar & Oscar still managed to do well though). Fair play to Modric - that was a quality performance.
