An exhausting experience for my brain's tactical center, XCOM: Enemy Unknown gave me a need for turn/squad-based strategy games I never expected.
With memorable characters, and more-black-than-grey player choices, The Walking Dead will continue to haunt me with the horrible actions I had to take.
Intense character development, and a harrowing narrative, Spec Ops: The Line delivers a message that has been buried in my head.
An easygoing platformer that is perfectly suited to a great, reactive soundtrack, and community tools that allow for delightful new levels and music.
Its lovely art-style and music, combined with an incredibly fun--if somewhat underdeveloped--gravity mechanic, Gravity Rush is one of the most charming games of this year.
From it's button-prompt gameplay, to it's battle-shonen story, it surprised me I could be so incredibly satisfied with mashing buttons and yelling "Burst!"
A gorgeous open-world city, with likable characters and well implemented combat, Sleeping Dogs is an incredibly polished game that's great fun to go back to.
