@sammo21: I used to manage a local comic and games store, UFS was sort of what kept our doors open. We even held a regional tournament attended by the then owners of the brand (Sabertooth Games). I still have uncut foil sheets of cards and complete sets and boxes upon boxes of extra cards. When we closed our shop there was no market locally for the cards and I just kept them rather than trying to go to ebay or something.

I was never any good at building Magic decks but I was nearly unbeatable in UFS (in our group anyway, I'm sure there were way better players out there). I often threw games to keep my players excitement up. Eventually I switched my deck building style to go for gimmicks that would only fire maybe 10% of the time if I was lucky but when it did it would be ridiculous and stupid in the best ways.

I'm so glad someone else remembers it, I haven't played it in more than 10 years now (wow, I can't believe we closed the store that long ago) but I still think about it often.

I can't tell if I'm going crazy or if the audio is doing weird things. Maybe both. I'm two minutes in and it seems like someone is talking in the background. Or maybe it's Brad and sometimes he's barely picking up on the mic?

edit: or maybe it's the Dota people animating and talking.

What a cliffhanger! I can't wait to find out which version of Morgan they picked! I know they were leaning towards the lady but anything could happen. A wild Jeff Bakalar could rush the studio and click on the male version and then... somehow convince Vinny and Abby that they can't just restart.

Maybe there is some sort of unadvertised cooperative play? The extra soldiers could be real people and at that point would go into battle with you but as cpu bots they don't participate?

Or maybe it was to give the feel of rolling with a squad? Then maybe the enemy is a larger swarm and the other soldiers are all around you fighting other bugs?

Or maybe I'm trying to justify a bad design idea and/or an unfinished mechanic.

@buzz_clik: I scrolled through the comments for a bit then gave up. Maybe someone already said this but I think that's a misinterpretation of what Alex was saying. Austin was asking if this is like a clam bake (while being a style of preparing clams I was taking him to mean the act of people getting together to prepare said clams), as in "we're having a clam bake so put on your white pants, tie your sweater around your neck and come on over!" (I have a very specific mental picture of some upper crust rich people doing this). So in that light a sausage roll would be an event where friends come over to help you form ground sausage into rolls (or fill casings or whatever it is you do to make a sausage link) to which Alex was saying, naw people do don't that.

That said, I have heard of sausage rolls, never seen one. The closest thing I've encountered are taquitos or Runza sandwiches (which is it's own weird thing as a fully bread encased meat pie like thing with a bunch of meat and other stuff, but is trademarked as a sandwich).

@avaren: but that's what I'm interested in. The thought process and trial and error. If all I wanted was an edited clip of success or failure I would simply skip to the end to see the results.
