@Finstern: The remake is called Star Trek Supremacy and made by a guy called Mike Strobel.
I can definitely recommend checking it out! It's amazing work he's done so far.... keep a napkin nearby... you'll need it to swipe up all the drool! :D
@CenturionCajun: Yeah the was a HUGE bug in the game... start exploring too much and the game would slow down tremendously which made the whole game unplayable unfortunately. It really sucks cause even WITH that major bug in the game I just couldn't put it down... it was just so intriguing!
Funny thing though was that the Federation and Ferengi was extremely hostile all the time and the Klingons was probably the easiest ones to negotiate diplomacy with.... the Romulans was just being Romulans, eating you out from the inside with their intelligence agency.
This game was so awesome.... but dang it took a long time for a turn to be calculated once you got up to 100 or so.... think it took around 45-60 minutes just to calculate a turn.
Really looking forward to the new fan-made version of it though... looks amazing the stuff they've done so far, they still need to put in AI which (surprise, surprise) is what they're struggling with the most. But the map sizes in the new fan-made one... whoa! HUGE galaxies!
