No, it is not F2P. Star Citizen costs $55 at the moment but you can find it cheaper couple times in year during big events.

Star Citizen is more like combination of Elite Dangerous + X-series + ARMA + ...

I recommend to follow the development in their youtube website. They publish about 4 videos every week and especially the show Around the Verse in Thursdays is good to watch.

Star Citizen

I'm preparing for Alpha 3.0. What they have showed in AtV recently about Alpha 3.0 is most impressive I have ever seen in games. Can't wait.

Hearts of Iron IV

PDS has been pushing so much high quality material recently that I have had no time to play this until now. It is a bit too early (25 hours player) to say much but so far it has been great.
