agreed, its kind of like what everyone is saying. they make you buy them individually and then when they start dropping in sale they will have it on the deal of the week for the complete bundle.... i hope konami isn't going to be that cheap.

Before you Start note that i think it would be easier to say that there might be a bit of info in here that you would think is spoiler material so read at your own risk. I wrote this thread in a way that the spoiler info kinda integrates with the non-spoiler but i will remember for next time to change that. Thanks for understanding.

What can I say about chapter 7? When i first started up the chapter the scaled out view immediately revealed the largeness of the stage, containing 2 new enemies: mummy
(zombie-esk but more dangerous due to larger range of attack)and Ashtarte (boss). 2 new monsters = 2 new souls for soma and 1 new spell for charlotte (delta spark / green triangle attack by boss)On your first play-through of the chapter it will probably take you at least 10 - 13 minutes and then you promptly fail because the boss (Ashtarte) is really overpowering if you dont have the proper tactics.
The stage itself is pretty straight forward, but the only difference from the other stages that have the option to take a co-op route, this one actually forces you to do co-op depending on your character choice. Needing to pull levers or have Levers pulled for you to open several doors and move a series of elevators, when said levers are located on the other side of the map. Granted it is pretty easy to rush (rush is about 5 - 7 minutes)  to the boss solo if you have soma or shanoa, so you can bypass some of the lvls " co-op " bits. The reason is take so long, is because you have to pull at least one key lever and then you can move on to the rest of the level.Soma using yorick jumping and Shanoa's magus @ the main elevator room rather and going around / having a partner pulling levers will make it possible. People who like to use other characters (anyone but Charlotte) can still rush due to a skillful kick jump off of the head of a final guard located in the room itself
you can also rush pretty well enough in co-op with the same tactic as a solo rush but it depends on starting position for the person with the knowlege of how to rush (much like chapter 3).

Boss guide
Now Ashtarte can seem pretty beastly when you first encounter her but one you see her painfully obvious pattern of attack it becomes easy as pie, granted that you are able to dodge her end all male only seduce attack, but more on that later.
She begins like any other boss, with a step on a pressure plate and a rush to the boss room. When Inside she will begin the easy to dodge but rather powerful attack patern (not as strong as Dracula's meki-dome and flame pillar/lightening attack but still). Immediately you will notice (for you valmanway lovers) 'consecutive 1's' , a feeling of  "oh noes" hits you at the startling development, and this my friends is with max strength gear for Soma. Alucard max strength gear does 9's, Shanoa's damage is around  7's with pnuema 9 with duel pnuema attack. This i really disheartening, the items and gear you spent hours upon hours getting turn useless in one fatal swoop. Now wait a minute i know that you are thinking that i left out a few weapons and such, well you are correct, they always say save the best for last.
every character has a certain way that is somewhat far from the norm of what you usually use gear-wise on all the other levels (there is a book /  grimoire stratically place but a stones throw from the boss room) so you can have on your normal gear throughout the whole level and change b4 the battle or you can do what you prefer.
now first off Ashtarte is weak against 2 forms of attacks crushing and holy damage, these types of damage can be found in ;
  • Claimh Solas (Holy) Soma
  • Lapiste (Crushing) Shanoa
  • Holy Rod ( Obviously holy :P) Alucard (kinda recommend against this though.... really slow)   (edit: fist of tulkas is far better than my previously stated holy rod, it can spam and does more damage aswell
  • Jonathan's whip / Vampire Slayer (crushing/ holy) as well as several of his sub weapons cross holy water etc.
  • energy flow - Charlotte / Witch- Soma (Holy)
and whatever else you can find that may do this damage that is feasible for playing on hard, feel free to add in your comments or give some suggestions.
For armor i suggest the most survivable gear that you have, for example - ancient armor. (because really this boss isn't so much about how fast you can be her it is all about thinking it is only a matter of time b4 she drops)
the most effective gear for certain characters are usually what is listed about (they may attack slow but she have a very small amount of health, and dealing a few 114's (claimh solas w/o beserker) or 137's (lapiste w/o beserker) puts her in the grave in a fairly short order.

Now for the actual Fight itself, simple enough in my book. she usually starts the battle with a whirlwind / tornado out of her hand the does the action pretty fast but you should be able to see it after a while and even b4 that i recommend just sticking close to her and jumping over her head. In fact try to stay at her back at all times, as soon as she turns to face you jump to her rear then she attacks. She has 4 attacks, 3 being able to dodge by staying at her back, while the 4th (she only does it when there is a male character in the room) takes a bit more effort but once you see someone do it or in some cases get the right timing it becomes a breeze.
Her first 3 attack are the whirlwind move i talked about above which spans the entire length of the room and in few cases if she does it close to the entrance to the room itself it goes through the wall to damage people camping outside the room (beware). then her second attack is a simple lunge forward, her legs never leave the ground during this attack so if you are in front of her  either back up or jump over, then she have another move which also has an easy telegraph like dracula's second form poison jump. she almost does the same motion with her hand and kinda crouches a bit but instead of attack on the ground she jumps backward  while doing a diagonal green triangle attack (delta spark)  downward from he jumping position, if you are behind her you still might be hit so pay attention, she may even be able to land on you aswell.
Now for her most tricky attack Seduce, yes seduce.... this is her game ender if you are any male character or you partner is, granted the move itself doesn't do much damage, just like Dracula's but rather the fact that it seemingly, at first glance has has no proper way to dodge it, but that is at first glance. Now every Character EXCEPT Shanoa has a way to dodge this Soma's method is probably the easiest though. Using His Medusa head you can Hover Above her head when she says her telegraph (cant remember the words now but these are the only actual words she ever says), when you hover the higher the better people, if need be jump of her head if you think your too low, better safe than sorry. Rinse Wash Repeat. (I'm still trying to figure out if this attack is prompted by the amount of damage that you do to her or not because a few times if i fail to land a few blow on her she doesn't do it but if i hit like 5 - 6 good damage hits shit does it, going to test this )
Alucard has a slighty more trick approach, now i would recommend when you hear her say her line that you go as far away as possible and do what? yep, mist form. The move that has probably saved your bacon more than enough times continues to do so, but it is still and always will be with mist form, all about the timing.
Jonathan is also a bit about timing but can be a bit wishy washy at times, this is because you have to use his martial arts, i love Jonathan  for this same reason but in my experience i can never seem to get the move out perfectly all the time, 1 out of 5 times i can't get the move i want and then get immediately whomped by a final guard. When dodging seduce  you have to either do sonic strike, Roll and a not so obvious one danger knee (go figure!) did that by accident and went though it and was like oh snap! now i recommend doing your move of choice toward her so you go into them rather than away for obvious reason. Be sure not to do sonic strike or roll into her, while danger knee is just fine. TIMING!
Charlotte's method is pretty simple but again im going to sound like a broken record.... timing. Use heal go invulnerable for a shot period and phase through it. This is for co-op with a male partner on solo just like Dracula,  Ashtarte doesnt do seduce unless they can seduce you, enough said. (on a side note charlotte might be the only character that doesn't have to change anything gear wise and can hit consecutive 108's with energy flow even more devastating if you do the down 'B' w/ backdash glitch/ attack, other characters can use there old gear but highly not recommended if you are just getting a feel for it)

Other than that find your own gear and enjoy yourself or curse Konami for having you fight her for so long and getting Caviar.

Before i forget this is the build i currently use to  rush Ashtarte.

 Soma
Samurai helm
ancient armor
winged boots
astral ring (i use max succubus and get it back)
Megingiord
Super Pot

souls
succubus
medusa head
yorick (needed for rush)
and mummy (new soul) because max out if close enough does a double it dealing 81 each time (over 100 if you use dracula's tunic)
and whatever else im feeling
dual Valmanways and i just use mummy to do my main damage and when i get around 150 health or so (due to astral) i just hit her for a few seconds to get it back and repeat.
takes about 5:30 to do on hard solo could do it faster if i put on maybe deaths robes to do more spell damage  but i like the extra security.

any thoughts or advice I'm more than ready to hear it, just drop a reply or message me
(my first topic ever btw, kinda excited, hope i wasn't to long winded, and thank god for spell-check  )

thanks

" Yeah, it's definitely gonna be interesting to see how people respond to the cost. I mean, viewed comparatively alongside the full game, this sounds like it could drastically inflate the game's total cost, albeit with the game getting more expensive on a per-asset basis. We've already paid $15 for five characters and six levels, so seeing two characters cost $5 and not having a cost applied to the level yet (unless it happens to say "free" in that scan - I can't read Japanese) is a bit concerning. Still, I've gotten more playtime out of this $15 game than most disc releases that were several times more expensive, so it's hard to complain.

This does hold some concern cost wise but i, like you have also gotten allot of play out of this game, and im not done yet.
someone also brought up a point in another forum i was reading that may hold some validity to it, saying something akin to the Japanese DLC prices being higher than American.
Now i don't know if any of this has any bearing on it but i remember when RE5 came out with the new character packs they where something like 160 msp or 80 msp. Maybe it will be
grouped together so you can by individually or you can by the whole set, if so im getting the whole thing.

everyone can do it, just the time with each varies , shanoa and soma can do it in like 2 minutes (if you dish out an ample amount of damage that is), other will take up to 5 minutes to make the run.
these numbers are only if your character is built up enough to destroy the puppets fairly quickly and also this is a boss only time, no chest grabbing involved

forgot to mention the way you do it faster with soma is with the yorick soul, just throw the little bugger out and bounce on it in the lagest center room with the bone pillars and the scale.
