Bad News Barrett is back...I can sleep easier at night now knowing that he's back on the roster. He looks like he's leaned up during his time off too. Now if we can somehow get him back in a title hunt again or maybe a nice long feud with Cesaro (which might help lift them both up the card).
WHO'S GOING TO PRY THE ANSWERS FROM JOHN CARPENTER'S MOUTH NOW???!
All kidding aside, I've been enjoying the work of Mr. Klepek since the 1UP days. No doubt I'll continue to do so wherever he hangs his hat. Good luck and God speed, Patrick, and don't forget that hot dog suit.
New Day is so not working for me. Except during promos. But their entrance... I mean, what the hell? Aren't they supposed to hype people up, make them clap along and do all this dumb dance BS? Because that really isn't happening. I blame the music. It's just soooo dull and almost ambient. It has so little impact and not really anything to grab on to and clap along or whatnot.
This is a shame because I want to cheer for Big E. being a maniacal sweating beast.
I think New Day has boned themselves in a couple of ways.
One, they should be coming out with a full on choir singing their theme song (at least for the TV tapings, even if it's piped thru and lip sync'd) and the theme song should be something closer in tone to something like "Are You Ready For a Miracle". Surely WWE could pay a local gospel choir to come to the arena to sing for 2 minutes and give their church a free plug.
And two, three is a weird number for New Day. I've never liked that number for a wrestling group, not even for guys like The Shield or The Wyatts. Two or four is the number they should be looking at, there's more versatility in a four man group, and it harkens back to the Four Horsemen. Kinda makes me wish (for some weird reason) that Bo Dallas wasn't currently injured. He'd be an excellent 4th member for comedic reasons and they could even use him as an interesting foil against the current group.
But yeah, I want to be cheering and clapping for New Day too, they just need to tweak the package just a bit.
Just watched NXT REvolution and it very much is pushing me into the direction of just giving up on WWE proper. NXT does a much better job of building tension between players over the long haul and then letting the payoff come in its own due time. Every match was good to phenomenal, with the tag match and Baron Corbin being the weakest of the bunch, but NXT has me more emotionally wrapped up in the characters than anything RAW has offered me in the last year. Finn Balor and Hideo Kojima stocks both went up, Owens made a strong (if somewhat sudden) debut, the women's title match was the match of the show IMHO, and the main event had me weirdly close to happy tears. NXT is really a phenomenal product, and I think it's because it's primarily a fighting first, talking second, kind of product. Great, great stuff and it reminds me what it is about "wrestling" that I like so much.
I think the build for Sting vs HHH at Wrestlemania may have just began....(I really thought that Orton would be the match spoiler, seeing as he's from St. Louis, but I'll take what I can get)
Really solid and fast moving main event with lots of fun stuff (EDIT: I really couldn't get enough of HHH knocking out every official in the building until he got what he wanted. It had me in stitches and screaming at the TV at the same time). The Ambrose/Wyatt match ended up being a warm up to the TLC PPV, but was fun to watch, everything else was sad and not worth the time. The Diva title match in particular shouldn't have even been on the card and felt like something more appropriate to RAW. But all wasn't a complete wash, I mean, Cesaro got to job for Jack Swagger during the pre-show. That's something, right guys?....Guys?...*sigh*
I had a dream last night the WWE put GoPro cameras inside all the corner posts (facing towards the ring) for some different camera angles, and they brought in Kurt Angle to face off against (and defeat) Rusev.
Both of these things felt doable (?) after I woke up.
Side Note: (I'm feeling really, REALLY good about ultimately deciding to not buy tickets to Survivor Series. What's there is barely a decent house show.)
