Gentlemen, I present to you...  X-Com: Enforcer II

Guess I'm going straight back to UFO:Alien Invasion, or UFO: The Two Sides. Give me a real turn-based tactics game.

@Heartagram:

LAN support for Starcraft 2? What's to stop them putting in LAN support for SC2? It doesn't cost them anything. It's merely a misguided attempt to try and fight piracy which caused them to remove an integral part of multiplayer games? What if I don't want to connect to the internet every time I want to play MW2 with my roommate?

The same argument can be used for IW's decision to remove dedicated server support for MW2. They could have the IWNet system (which sounds all right) and have dedicated servers sitting alongside it. If they're capable of making an awesome game like CoD4 I'm sure they could figure out a way to reconcile the two systems. The IWNet system can't run community servers for groups, or custom content and there's no way to join a server community (e.g. for Counter Strike and ArmA there are a couple of servers I play on where everyone knows each other) without having hundreds and hundreds on your friends list.

It's not a big deal, but it's annoying. We're paying premium for games here; I can (and will) go back to playing good old games, or free opensource games (like Nethack) so if Infinity Ward wants my money, they have to do a good job. Getting rid of an old feature of PC gaming (dedicated server support dates back to ~1997) is not a good way, particularly with a gimmicky new Peer-2-peer hosting system.
