My top games of all time

Here is a list of my top games. This list is heavily influenced by the fact that I was born in 1987, and grew up playing certain games, while i didn't play some others. I didnt really get heavily into games until around about the playstation era. I didn't have an SNES, so you'll notice that those games are absent. I"ve since played many of the great SNES games, but they don't hold the same meaning to me as they might have if I had played them earlier.

  • This game is my number one choice for a multitude of reasons. It was the first game that I ever played for any length of time. My dad owned a Nintendo, and I played this when I was very young. My dad passed away when I was 6, and some of the few memories I have of him is when he and I would play this game. When I got this for Gamecube and heard the beginning theme music, I cried for several minutes because it brought back vivid memories. No other game holds the same emotional attachment for me, and I doubt any ever will.

  • Many will see this game in the second spot and probably roll their eyes, and that is understandable, but I played this game when I was about 10. At the time I was just starting to get into games, and it was above and beyond anything I had played before. I loved the batttle system, the summons, the materia, and just about everything else about this game. I also liked how dark it was. I put well over 200 hours into this game and did just about everything possible in it. I recently downloaded it from PSN, and it has not aged too well, but it was still a very important game to me.

  • This was my first RPG ever. I was given a Sega Genesis by one of my friends and this game was with it. It is still one of my favorite games, and I've beaten it probably around 10 times. The battle system was fun, and the story was good. It was the first RPG i every played, and its a shame that every Phantasy Star since has been a wholly different game.

  • I still remember the first time I saw my cousin play this game. It was during the sequence where you are going after Otacon, and you encounter the hallway full of mutilated soldiers torn apart by gray fox. When I finally got the game myself a couple of years, it was so far advanced compared to anything else I had played. I got it at a yardsale without the case, so I had to spend about an hour going through the codec channels one by one to find meryl's number. Pain in the ass...

  • My first serious racing game. I played this game all the time. I would use the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak version. 981 horsepower stock, and crazy acceleration. I wouldn't use the brake at all, I would just slam into the wall at nearly 200 mph and then accelarate out and lose no time at all. I spent hours doing all the endurance races, most more than once. Also the game that made my break my first controller (I hated those liscense tests).
