Hey Jan, not sure if you're aware of fighting game stuff like footsies, oki, etc, but it's all that game is. You're so close with your spacing. You just need to be like 10% more out of range.
It was neat to see Ben learn "Running in and unloading a clip" is not the way Halo campaigns work. By the end he was using melee to save bullets, backing off to recharge shields and focusing on the flooded marines who can actually hurt you and than just kiting the others. Well mostly.
@avioto: On a ranking of greatest video games ever SFII isn't even fair to compare other fighting games to. In terms of "Let's play a fighting game right now" it holds up, but you can't compare it to CvS2, Ultra, T7 and stuff like that.
@zoofame: If this is mediocre, do you have examples of "good" art in this kind of general overhead/iso 2d game? I thought most of it was good and was pretty impressed by the water, grass, and most of the trees/non-interactive rocks compared to most things I've seen.
I've tried to get into this series multiple times and bounced off hard every time. Stuck this whole video out and the ending is totally worth it. "No, it's bullshit" is Vinny just summing up Dan's existence as Alex tries to rationalize the universe.
"FIGHTING!" is a pretty good match intro. It's not "Heaven or Hell" or "Live and Let Die" tier, but the pre fight words need to be rated higher, scientifically speaking. It should carry weight like the sound test.
