I'm normally a video consumer, but wanted to try the audio version for background while I played a game. Bakalar is so much louder than the others in that version I had to just lower the video quality and go with that. But at least I have this cool story.
I'm really surprised Valhalla is received so positively, including by Alex. I'm a huge fan of the series, and I've enjoyed them all, sometimes in different ways, but this is just such a long flatline of a game. Truly unremarkable.
Ok, I'd tried to post a longer, more constructive comment than this another semi-regular site CSRF error ate my comment, so I'll just go with... 4 mins in the cross-talk is unbearable for me. Hope it gets better.
Fair warning, the cross-talk is pretty frequent throughout this particular episode. I'd guess latency was worse than usual since you have people from east and west coast together.
Thanks. Yeah, I ended up finishing it today. Reminded me of raiding in WoW on Teamspeak in 2008, people talking at once, hearing it and pausing to let others go, realising everyone paused, everyone talks again, etc. They said they were trying a new live mixing thing so I guess there's latency there too, possibly more about that than the coastal thing, as Vinny was ok. To be clear, I am glad and grateful they continue to try new things to make the best stuff they can, but it could maybe be tested outside of an almost 3 hour show.
