This is my first time playing a F.E.A.R game and I am maybe about an hour through it, it has a strong paranormal theme to it that works pretty well so far. I did not think it would work well with a fps but it does, after all, Monoloth did a fantastic job with the Condemned games.The package on Steam came with its 2 expansions, and it also has F.E.A.R 2 up for like $20 right now, which I will pick up once I finish this one. As for the horror elements, it makes me a little nervous to walk down a dimly lit hallway with a light bulb blinking that does not know if it wants to go out or not. I would hear a creepy little girl laugh and when I turn around I see a small leg barely visible at the edge of the door. I would walk in that direction she went in to find a bloated dead body in the corner, I think this game is going to be a fun ride.

That was a fun game. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I haven't played through the second game yet, though. Mostly because I have yet to come in the mood where I want to be scared shitless.
FEAR2 is a consolized piece of shit. Enjoy FEAR while it lasts; it's one of the most unique and bad-ass experiences in FPS history. It's sad that Monolith has lost its touch because of FEAR2.
I actually thought FEAR 2 was one of the best games of the year it was released in. That is the only game that's atmosphere ever really got to me. I actually felt a bit tight in the chest as I played through that game, due simply to how constantly oppressive the atmosphere Monolith crafted was.
Enjoy the games, because FEAR 3 doesn't look like it will be up to par.
A couple Christmases ago, I got the first F.E.A.R for the 360 new. The new part was important, because when I started playing it, I got "Disk unreadable" several more times. I'm waiting for the first F.E.A.R to go on sale though, the parts I played were pretty fun.

I like the combat,it is pretty simple and the gore factor is awesome, i like how the bullet wholes show on there body with blood smeared realistically around it.

seconded. FEAR2 was the first FPS in a few years that I enjoyed. Got me back in to enjoying them after a somewhat long absence.

You got away lucky. It's rubbish. I also hated Condemned and The Darkness, though. They're just not fun to play.
