I'd be stunned if there were more Bioshock games after this. Infinite's ending represents every possible combination of man/lighthouse/city that we (both gamers and developers) could imagine. Nothing is out of the realm of possibility. Ken Levine said in an interview, in a clever tongue-in-cheek nod to the ending, that Infinite represents every game in his head that can't be digitally translated.

I believe your notion of "infinite loops" is what's confusing.

In the end, nothing you did in the game happened. The game was made possible because of Comstock. Without him, there is no Elizabeth, Lutece, Columbia, etc. At the end of the game you're just a former Pinkerton agent with a daughter named Anna.

You played the original Bioshock, so all the mystery surrounding the city is pretty much gone. That said, Bioshock 2 is still a solid game with an okay story (albeit good ending(s)) and the best combat of any Bioshock. That's not saying much. In terms of combat I'd rank it as such: B2 > Infinite > B1.

I don't think you can go wrong with the one that started it all. In any case, I can't really rank them because they all do something specific very well. Bioshock has the best story. Bioshock 2 has the best combat. Infinite strikes some kind of strange medium that I can't explain. I like it...it's good...I just--yeah--my brain is still fried.
