I've enjoyed every GB game of the year, and its always been something I look forward to listening to over the course of a few days during the holidays, but this year I have not enjoyed at all. In fact, I disliked it so much that its made me think less of GB as a whole.
Whether I agreed with opinions or not, I've always respected the insight and passion of the arguments made for the games in each category, but this year seemed less about insight and passion, and more just about stubbornness and insistence. Repeating the same point over and over again, when the point is just based on personal preference is neither meaningful or interesting, and such long arguments regarding second and third place when the category already has a clear winner seems to me to be a big waste of time.
My subscription lapsed while I was overseas for the holidays because my credit card had expired and I wasn't able to update it until I got home, but now that I'm back and able to update, I don't think I'm going to. I've been a subscriber for years, but the last 20 or so hours of those podcasts really changed my opinion of some people, to an extent that I find shocking even to myself.
This is just my opinion, and I'm happy for everyone who enjoyed the GOTY stuff, but it for me these podcasts are the clear winners for most disappointing.
Final words, God bless Vinny :)
