Had it have a 4k blu-ray player, it would be a good reccomendation. Without it? Eh... You definately don't need to 'upgrade' to it. I guess with the slim not having optical out, it might be nice to have that back if you have to have it for your headphones/reciever. *Many recievers don't do hdmi in, and many older/cheaper tvs won't pass dolby/dts through to optical.*
If you haven't bought a ps4, I'd say just go ahead and by a pro. If you have one? Just keep it, and don't worry about a pro anytime soon.
