Short blog of what's goin on in my life

Hey folks, I'm so bored, I decided to write a short blog aaaalll about moi

Already two weeks into 2010 and I hate it. Three things have died; my PS3, my 360, and my great grandmother. And while I am upset about my consoles, nothing in the past five years has gotten me as sad as my great grandmother's passing. Sure, we all knew she was about to bite the dust, but it didn't hit me till she was gone. Even though she suffered from dementia and forgot my name a few times, she had a heart of gold and I loved her. So now we're having her funeral on Tuesday, and my family is rooting me on to play Amazing Grace on my trumpet that I haven't played for over a year. Despite the fact that my trumpet abilities have gone down the drain, I'll still try my best. It's the least I could do for my great grandmother.

My gaming life has been pretty decent even though I no longer have a PS3 or 360. I think I'm starting to appreciate the Wii more now that I have more time to play it. I've been playing Mario Kart Wii (which never grows old) and No more Heroes (which is a spectacular game so far!! Just bought it for like $15 yesterday!). Still, I miss my Demon's Souls. :(

And don't worry---- I'll have that yearbook photo of Megan Fox soon, lol.

Well, that's it for now... I'm not that great of a writer but I hope you enjoyed reading.

I went to school with Megan Fox.

Technically I did! I went to Saint Lucie West High School during my high school years. When I was a freshmen, she was a senior... Just found this out today. Freakin weird and disappointing that I never knew she existed back then.

You know what's awesome? Mixing hot and cold food together.

Ah, apple pie. God made man. And man made apple pie.

Who can resist the incredible combination of warm, flaky crust mixed with that sweet and gooey apple filling? Even better: how about baked apple pie with a nice, frozen scoop of vanilla ice cream? Nothing beats the "high" you get when you take a bite into it and you feel the immediate clash of hot and cold dancing around your mouth while your taste buds send an explosive barrage of electrical signals to your brain triggering a feeling of satisfaction. I don't know about you, but it's one of MY guilty pleasures in life.

I also like to plop some ice cubes into my hot cocoa and then drink it without hesitation, to get that awesome "high" feeling. If you wait too long, the ice cubes melt, and the melted ice cube saturates with the cocoa and waters it down. So ya gotta drink it right away!

Mixing hot and cold foods is awesome!

Is anyone else like me?

Mmmmm......
Mmmmm......

Awesome Music Level I Made

I know most of you don't care, but I'll mention it anyway. I just made an awesome music level in LittleBigPlanet.

I have a vid for you on the bottom, but please keep in mind that the video is of the worst quality I've ever seen and it skips. The music sounds MUCH better in the game, so go check it out, because it's just awesome dude! Totally radical!

It is inspired by the Airman theme that got moderated long ago...

Dude, you totally need the RED key

So I got my Giant Bomb jacket a couple days ago and this wonderful masterpiece from Snide. Still have no clue what it means, but someone on Giant Bomb must know. I hope you're jealous. :)

So I stepped down...

Hello, just wanted to warn some of you that I officially stepped down from my moderator position. Does this mean I'm leaving Giant Bomb? No, it just means that I'm not a mod from this day forward. So, why did I do it?

Well, there are two primary reasons. First, I don't have nearly as much free time as I had when I first started my moderator duties. For the past 60 days, I haven't been able to work in the submission queue as long as I would have liked. Hopefully, by stepping down, I can make room for someone more fit for the job.

Secondly, I just want to be a "normal" member. Stepping down gives me the chance to focus more on enjoying the site, rather than sitting in a queue. Finally, I'm normal, and I'm loving every last bit of it!!! :)

And trust me, being a moderator isn't all that fun. I know most of you on Giant Bomb have hopes of becoming a moderator, and that's great. I'm sure there are some of you out there that would make excellent mods. But a lot of you (and I'm sure of it) just want the job to gain "status" on GB, or to become popular, or respected, or.... for whatever reason. Truth is, if you want the position for any reason other than just "helping out GB", then this job isn't for you. To be a mod, you need to have a strong desire to help, you need to be ambitious, and you need to have some good leadership qualities. And let me tell you, once you ARE a mod, it's fun for about a week.... but then you start to realize that there is more to being a mod than the respect or status you gain, and that's when you look at yourself and you start thinking, "Am I really fit for this? Do I really have the will and desire to work at the best of my abilities?"

Also, another thing I want to bring up- the moderators here are a nice bunch. There may be some of you out there that are holding a grudge against a mod or two, or even some that just hate authority in general.... but let me assure you, every single mod on the team is a friendly, normal, hardcore gamer, just like me and you. I've been in the moderator chat, I've been in the moderator forums (there is a super secret section for them, hehe), and I have yet to see any "secret plans" to harass the members here. These guys aren't here to make it tough for you, they're here to help. They don't enjoy banning anyone or locking anything. That would just be plain sick. (Or maybe Gamespot, haha.)

So, with that, this brings this blog entry to a close, and thanks for reading.

Blown Away

Whenever this guy performs, it amazes me. This man inspires me every day and people like him keep me playing the trumpet with the hopes of becoming as great as him.

My First Review

Hey guys, I finally reviewed a game for the first time ever. I'd appreciate if you'd comment on it, and tell me what I could do better.

Hope you enjoy it!

Goodbye Gamespot, Hello Giant Bomb

Hello Giant Bomb! This is the first ever blog post I've ever done in my life, and I think Giant Bomb is the perfect place to start.

First of all, about me:

I'm 20 years old, I'm currently attending FSU, I hope to get my degree in music education, I perform jazz as a trumpet player, and I love video games. There, that's out of the way.

Ever since my father introduced me to video games, they have been my primary resource for entertainment, and as nerdy as this sounds, they are an important part of my life. And ever since I was a little boy, I've dreamed about becoming a game developer or reviewer.  The problem with this dream, however, is the fact that the gaming industry is a difficult place to become acknowledged, and also a tough place to earn a living.

So, I'm falling back on the other passion in my life: music. Right now, as I said before, I'm taking music courses at FSU. I'm having the time of my life right now, and I don't regret the path I'm following in life. Nevertheless, there is still a buring desire within me to become that reviewer I've always wanted to be.

And hopefully, this is where Giant Bomb will fill the gap.

I'm planning on posting reviews every week on video games of the early 90's and 80's; games from the golden age of gaming. I hope that everyone here at Giant Bomb will enjoy them, and I also hope to become a recognized and valued member here at Giant Bomb.

I would like to thank Jeff and the gang for creating this wonderful site. Thanks!

-Joe
