Man, are Nintendo and Sony boned.

If this were 2009, I'd be 100% sure this comment is sarcastic. In 2012... not so sure. People, especially investors and analysts, say a lot of dumbass shit about the viability of iOS games these days...

If this site were unbiased it might be a little more professional and you wouldn't see people like Alex pissing off half the audience of this site.

"B-B-But Alex was mean to us when we told him he's an annoying asshole that should be fired. D':"

Jeff or Ryan would also tell you that nobody at WM gives a shit that people complain about Alex or Kessler or anybody else. Why should they? It's their site, they can run it how they want. Also, "half the audience" is a maaaaajor exaggeration. A vocal minority, maybe.

And I do feel good about supporting what I consider the best gaming site out there, thanks. If Jeff wants to spend that money on a nice car or $200 Star Trek online subscriptions, who cares? I'm supporting everyone that works there, not just Jeff.

To use your own smug, condescending line... What you don't seem to get is this is a business. And this is the business model they've chosen. Just because you disagree with it doesn't make it bad business.

Oh, and Support The Siteâ„¢.

for some reason that seems like a lot of games to me...

Because it is... for a launch, at least. Sony learning from both the PS3 and 3DS launches, right here.

Still don't want one, though. Nothing here interests me.

Or you can just lure people in by splitting content and features. That's obviously cool too.

Want premium content? Pay the money and support the site. The premium stuff is them giving back for us paying part of their salaries so Whiskey Media doesn't shut down in two years. And guess what? You won't get ANY content if that happened. Don't be an entitled jerk.

The supplies limited thing is a joke...right? I think it is, but I'm very uncertain.

They could only print 2000 memberships on their internet printing press! Ones and zeros are expensive materials, man.

(Of course it's a joke.)

this game was never in GOTY consideration in the first place. it's on the fuckin wii. are we supposed to consider iPhone games for GOTY too?

So even if a game is amazing (not saying Skyward Sword is, I'm speaking hypothetically), because it's on a platform you don't like means it can't be GOTY? Stellar logic, right there.

Well, considering they can't do real patches on the Wii, this is a decent compromise. Hopefully this is a sign they'll include title updates on the Wii U firmware.

Except the part where you had to send shit in or "use software to repair damaged save" stuff. Nintendo needs a better way to fix this shit.

What do you think a patch is other than "software"? Magic?

If I were him I would do absolutely fuck all productive for the rest of my life. Actually I pretty much do that anyway, but you know what I mean.

Well, you're in good company, as that's pretty much what Notch is doing. I swear he's vacationing more than he's working these days, a lot of the time because he "needs" to play some video game or another. Dude's lazy as hell.

If you can't tell, I dislike the guy, despite finding his product pretty fun. Him handing it off to Jens has made me pretty happy. Without him there would be no pistons, redstone repeaters, and many other cool features that started as mods. Notch was initially against all of those inclusions. Jeb calling the shots (to an extent) and also putting in a mod API can only make the game more interesting.

This is great, now Minecraft will actually have a competent person in charge.

My sentiment exactly. Jeb is a better programmer, actually listens to the community/modders, and doesn't hide behind "B-BUT THIS DOESN'T MATCH MY VISION!!" when people want features he doesn't like. This is great news for Minecraft fans.

And I don't know where people got the idea the version 1.0 coming out means no more updates. In fact, they've explicitly said the opposite. As long as Minecraft is popular, it will get updates and new features.
