Someone should tell Jeff that the “Nova” thing is an urban legend. Nova is a word in Spanish, which also means nova. It’d be like saying a dining room set didn’t sell because it’s brand name was “Notable.” Because who would by a dining room set with no table?

As with all pilot episodes, there’s gonna be a “getting to know you” phase. Big fan of 2M2LN, I have an acquaintance in their band, and I’m psyched to see where they go from here.

I know it’d be pricey for a Gwarsenio or a Hard Melissa appearance, but if they’ve got the time, I’ve got the inclination.

Definitely want to see a full playdate of this one. It’s a tradition!

Absolutely would love Vinny to do a full playthrough of Dark Side with Alex and someone else. Contradiction is one of my favorite pieces of content on the site.

Is “doom clone” a commonly used term? It seems awfully reductive, especially when referring to Dark Forces. Sure, it’s an FPS with sprites, but the game does a lot of things to iterate on the formula—ice surfaces, traversing through liquids, moving pathways, and so on...

I see a lot of similarities between Abby and what I remember of Alex in his early GOTY deliberations. A little too quick to chime in on every point and a little too stubborn about digging their heels in.

I did find this year’s conversation a little more frustrating than past years. With a year this good, everyone had strong opinions about what games they liked and what games they didn’t, which led to a lot of talking in circles.

I feel like Matthew's indictment of Battleground's lack of polish is misplaced. An early access game shouldn't be expected to be polished, I don't think.
