One of the few games I have ever played that gave me a true adrenaline rush when I was playing it the first time(when the chopper was chasing you when you're on the boat was intense!). I played it pretty late compared to most, didn't play it until 2007, but have played it 4 times in the time since then, so it has to be my number one.

Just one of the best presented stories that I can think of in a video game. Sure some of the stuff was kind of cheap how they explained things away from previous games, but it still gave a sense of closure, had amazing graphic and the story was told really well. Oh and I really hate it when people say "oh if i wanted a movie, I'd put in a DVD" if people bought this not realizing that it was going to be that narrative heavy in cut scenes really should have seen something about the last three metal gear solid games maybe?

This is the game that got me really into RTS's. There was nothing like sending an army of rapier's to any enemy's base. I believe it was also the first RTS to allow for heavy modding I believe, with stuff like star wars unit skins that were made.

I consider this game the birth of the modern day western RPG. Good narrative, made great narrative by the setting. Something that such a large audience base would be able to get into because, well, who doesn't know star wars? That along with a plot twist I don't think anyone saw coming(except me because it was RUINED for me), made this game still one of the better RPGs that you could play today.

This is sort of a tricky one, I won't necessarily say that this game should be in the average best games ever list, really it's only in here because it was a large part of my life for such a long time. Hack and slashing through hordes of demons, upgrading loot, playing with friends and people you meet online, just was a good time.

There was a time, where I wanted nothing to do with a resident evil game, I am not a turret, I had no desire to control like one. I gave some of them a chance, i just could not get into them. This is another game I played way late because my friends convinced me that it was amazing, and boy were they right. This is a game that everyone who enjoys games should play.

A combination of growing up with this game, and it just being a amazing, fun game puts this one on my list.

I'm more just putting this on here because, well, I play it, and at least right now it is easily the best game in it's genre. I still only see two types of mmo's around now, everyquest derivatives and WoW derivatives, stick with what works i suppose.

I think it's a combination of being a fresh setting that hasn't been used much, and the fact that this is a really good game. Sure it has some snags here and there, but overall this is a game that you can be happy to dump hour after hour in.

I would call this the best super mario world, it just seemed to be put together well, and playing it is just outright fun, and what else would you want from a video game but fun?
