I'm a little bummed I don't get to see where you would've put Binding Blade, I'm very torn on that game overall and curious if you'd have a different take.
I actually really enjoy Shadow Dragon quite a bit. I think that and Awakening are the ones I've enjoyed playing the most. There's something about the simplicity with focusing on just the original concept that appeals to me.
Fates man. I know where you are coming from on the gameplay, because I wouldn't have done all three routes if I didn't agree. But maaaaaan I think I just sour on it more over time. Being removed from the act of playing over time just makes it look that much worse in my memory.
My list is taking a hiatus once I finish the two im currently chipping away at. But it was a lot of fun to reflect on my experiences this year. :P
@humanity: It's definitely true. The initial impressions of Nero and the game at large were generally pretty terrible. I didn't even like it in the beginning! It took a year (2?) before I watched some commentated video of people playing Nero and I realised how cool and unique stuff like Exceed, charge shot 3 and Calibur made him feel. That's why I think Nero isn't nearly as reviled anymore, because with time he has grown on the people that gave the game a second chance.
Oh my god I straight up bought Yakuza 0 and Kiwami on PS4 yesterday. They are downloading right now. I can't even tell if I should just refund? Is that even an option. Goddammit. LOL
@nietzschecookie: A lot of the fans that stuck with the game for gameplays sake and played it over and over really like Nero. He's super fun from a mechanical standpoint. I don't think it's going to make the fanbase erupt or anything that he's back.
That said, some of the hardcore dmc 1/3 fans hated the general direction of 4 and Nero from an art perspective and are probably not too happy.
Of all the things Dan does that bothers me, the thing that bothers me the most is his treatment of scotches.
99% of the time I have no issues with his shenanigans, and I wanna be tolerant on how people want to drink things. But oh my god it always hurts. It huuuuuuurts
@mrcraggle: How are you even supposed to? She just brushes them off when they talk to her, and she has never even implied any questline or side activity you could do.
I do however wonder how much they miss by waiting to do sidequests like the grandma in ep1, or the cat. When they are clearly time sensitive.
