I found you guys at a time where I was the most unsure I've ever been about where my life was headed, and you've been there for me ever since. I've been following you for my entire adult life, and your voices have been an anchor for me the whole way. I'll always be thankful for that.
I respect that Jeff and Brad are so opposed to the MK movie theme, but it is also extremely funny how out of touch they are with what most people know about MK.
Even my friends, who are in their thirties and have been fans of MK their entire lives, don’t know the theme came from the movie. It’s just the Mortal Kombat theme.
Also extremely funny for Brad to call out the MK theme for being a relic from the early 90’s, as if that doesn’t describe... all of MK. lol
1. Love that Jeff keeps a triangle within arm's reach at all times
2. Shocked at how well that bit synced up over a live stream
Also how much cooler would that game be if you were playing the notes Guitar Hero style instead of dodging them (aka just standing still half the time)
@aktane: Totally. I want to believe that Joel Jewett and the crazy-ass Neversoft team of the late 90's would have shouted anyone who suggested such a thing out of the room back in the day.
Like, I know punk is dead, but holy hell man, can we at least pretend there's still a connection between skateboarding and saying fuck you to authority?
Jeff, I'm sorry, but I can't think of anything I'd want less than a Call of Duty character in Tony Hawk. Fuck that shit, man. I don't want to be reminded of how the military industrial complex glorifies war through video games in my lighthearted punk rock skateboarding nostalgia game. No thanks.
Rorie, for the love of god, just stop moving, hold block, and actually look at what the enemy is doing.
I promise, when you're not splitting your attention trying to run around and dodge and mash attack constantly it's pretty easy to figure out what different attacks look like. You don't even really need to know the timing, you can mash block and figure it out that way. Worst case is you end up blocking the attack instead of parrying, which is a thousand times better than getting hit because you committed to a dodge or a jump, both of which leave you super, super vulnerable.
Just sit right in front of them and hold block for a while and figure out what they do, then, when you feel like you have a good idea of the timing of their attacks, start trying to guess when to parry. With that strategy, especially with the early game enemies, worst case is you have to back off for a bit and recover your posture. But even then, the fastest way to recover posture is by holding block. It's almost like they designed it that way for a reason!
By all means, of course, make it easier if that's more fun for you but holy hell, I just had to get this off my chest because no one was actually helping him. The slowmo stuff actually seems like a good way to learn an enemy's moves if you're having trouble... but it won't help if you still aren't actually watching what they're doing.
