I fell asleep three different times during Survivor Series, although, that's pretty typical of me when I watch a wrestling program that runs for over an hour.
Shadow of Mordor. Okay, maybe "don't like" is too strong, but man, I'm trying to play that game right now and it is just not grabbing me. I purposely put several months of time between it and Arkham Knight because, for me, its never a good idea to play two similar games back to back. I also haven't played an Assassin's Creed game since AC3 at its launch. I either needed more time or Metal Gear Solid V being open world unexpectedly sabotaged Shadow of Mordor. Good game with no problems that, after a mere 5 hours, I'm tempted to drop.
Man, I ignored the fuck out of this little part of the game. I had guys dying left and right and was way too lazy to even make an attempt at figuring it out. I assumed that if I didn't dilly dally with the main story missions that it would sort itself out. I was right.
Even as someone who grew up with and enjoyed classic Tomb Raider, they are really hard to go back to now. The controls are super weird. Luckily, the games operate on a grid system that they never stray from, as other users here have spelled out, so it all winds up working out fine in the end. Nevertheless, I bought Tomb Raider 2 when it was first available on PS3 and I don't think that I beat the first level. Playing primarily on a PSP probably didn't help.
I played a Virtual On game - no idea which one - at an arcade once and it was one of the coolest things I've ever done and one of my fondest video game related memories. That dual flight stick control scheme is fucking awesome.
I would love to know who approached who over Cloud's Smash Bros. appearance. My initial thought is that he was the runaway winner of the character ballot, but that thing just ended and Namco (or whoever) has clearly been working on him for months. It's a super crazy thing to have happened. Can't wait to play as him on that dope looking Midgar stage.
I'm always baffled that a group of people who wanted to keep video game journalist honest (not really a cause worth fighting for, in my opinion, but not entirely without value) somehow devolved into "grr I hate all non-caucasian-males." I assume that the actual crazy people just latched onto the "GamerGate" hashtag.
It's a shame to see stuff like this get canceled and often seems silly to do so just because a bunch of nerds and losers who probably lose all of their courage when pulled away from their PC screens make some empty threats. But then, if they're crazy enough to get that worked up about video games, they just might be crazy enough to follow through with those threats. I certainly wouldn't want to get shot or blown up just for wanting to listen to a panel about goddamn video games.
Heh. I've always wanted to throw "Shadow Moses" in Dan Ryckert's direction, but I assumed that dozens of people had already done that. I don't know if it's a good song or not because I have no taste in music, but I love it.
