Castlevania players must hear...

... This

Castlevania has always been known for its excellent music (my brother is a musician himself, and he practically plays my DS just to hear the music in the games), and just about everyone has heard the main theme of the series, "Vampire Killer", at some point. Well, here is a version of that famous song with lyrics. Hilarious lyrics, by Shael Riley (who some of you may recognize as "Lunk" from the classic internet series "Captain S").

Even fans of Castlevania may not understand the joke of this remix though, so I'll explain. So, in the Castlevania series, Dracula returns from his grave every one hundred years, only to be vanquished by somebody in the Belmont family... Or whatever. I'm no expert on the series, I've only played the DS ones. Anyways, if it's every one hundred years that Drac returns, then what about the generation of Belmont that is born in the middle of that century? This song is about a made up character named Juese Belmont, who is just that. The odd generation out, that doesn't have any spoooooky vampire to defeat, and whose only real job is to make the next Belmont by, "Touchin' ladies thighs, to keep the name alive." Have a listen. It's a good laugh.

P.S. Based on the weather reports, tomorrow is lookin' like it's gonna be a snow day for me, and if it is, I'll make a video blog.

A Late 2008 Top 10 List

Yeah, I know this is really late, but I'm lazy. I was bored in geometry, so I started thinking hard about my Top 10 Games of 2008. In my opinion, 2008 did rival the monster of a gaming year prior to this, 2007. Also, I tried to do something a little bit different with my list. Rather than make a whole blurb about every game on here, I figured I would use 1 word for each game that best describes what I liked about it, plus a blurb for the winner. So here we go!

WINNER

1. NO MORE HEROES (Wii)   Style

No More Heroes
is not a perfect game, by any means. It isn't even the most perfect game on my Top Ten of 2008. But, it makes up for any and all of its technical and design related issues with its truly unrivaled abundance of style. From the memorable characters (Travis Touchdown being, arguably, the best new character of the year), to the fun and over-the-top combat, No More Heroes absolutely oozes style, and that goes a long way in my book.

HONORABLE MENTIONS (In no particular order)

World of Goo (Wii)
The World Ends With You (DS)
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix (PS3)

My First Video Blog for GiantBomb

Yup, so I'm gonna start hosting my videos here on GaintBomb (well, through Vimeo, but you know what I mean. I'll be embedding them from Vimeo here on GiantBomb). Previously, and for years, I had been hosting them on Gamespot, but I can't now, as there are technical difficulties (check out my newest blog over there on GS to find out what has gone wrong). Sure, I'll still be providing the links to my GiantBomb V. logs on Gamespot, and I'll be keeping Gamespot as my primary blog, but now my vids can be longer! Also, I originally thought that this video would be going on Gamespot, so that is why I introduce it as a Gamespot user, and that is why I tried to keep this vid short.
