Overall, I think David Cameron and his cronies have an elistist natural selection view of society and the sooner we get labour back in the better. "We're all in this together!" he cries. As far as i'm aware, the majority of Britian are not millionare toffee faced crumpet boys from Eton. Sadly true heroes like Gordon Brown and Tony Blair have been replaced by Ed Miliband who looks and sounds more like a DnD player with a cold than a leader of men.

Gordon Brown and Tony Blair were not heroes. They did made mistakes, but, still, the coalition is a mistake anyway. To be quite frank, there isn't going to be a correct way to run the country until the economy fully recovers, and that may be some time.

Pretty close equivalents are occurring here in America as well, except instead of the NHS it's Medicare and Medicaid, and instead of raising taxes on fatty foods, they're raising them on cigarettes or other consumables that are used more by the poor (soft drinks are a target right now). The only major difference I can see is that even with all the financial problems the country is facing, nobody even seems to consider a reduction in police or military funding.

The biggest difference I see though is the reaction. Americans are just kind of lying down for it, or even voting directly against their interests (poor, uneducated, uninsured people voting for the reduction of food stamps, Medicaid, and lower corporate and capital gains tax rates). That's what I find interesting. There seems to be much more outrage in Europe over what's happening than here in the States.

OK, this isn't going anywhere productive. Even if I ignore the melodramatic initial post which is most likely orchestrated to provoke a negative response, when the original poster starts to promote the theft of televisions, I think it's time to close the thread down.
