The Top 10 Albums of All Time

I have started writing a blog featuring my Top 10 Albums of all time, and plan to post it later tonight. I'm almost done with it, but it's about 6:45 in the morning here, and i'm dead tired. So it will have to wait. I only started writing it because I was really bored after coming home last night, but I think it has turned out pretty good so far. So look forward to that later.

Can you guess what #1 will be? =P

And i'm still thinking about the Florida thing....

As always, thanks for reading. And sorry for the shitty blog, but I'm really tired...so the real blog will be up later today.

Taking the next step....

A few blogs ago, in case you don't remember, I made references to making a life-changing decision. Now, I know I didn't really go into details about it, but thats simply because it is a long story, and I wouldn't want to bore you. It boils down to this.

My girlfriend, who I have been dating for about 2 months now, is moving to Florida. To Tampa, Florida, to be more specific. Now, as you could probably guess, this has had me pretty down. She's leaving in 2 weeks, on August 13 I believe. Funny thing is, I have a lot of family in Tampa. Now, when she told me she was going to Tampa, I mentioned this family to her. Then she started asking me questions, such as, "Would you be able to come visit me and stay with them when you did?" Now, that would be simple. However, that 1 question eventually evolved into her asking me if there was any possible way that I could move down there permanently, and stay with her.

Ok, so, my first thought is "Um, there is absolutely no way that is going to happen." I mean, moving to a whole nother state, just to be with a girl? Even I thought that was crazy, especially considering that we have only been dating for 2 months. But then, I thought about it, and I thought about it a lot. I decided to look at the positives and negatives of me going. Lets just say that the positives FAR outway the negatives.

Not only would I be able to stay with the girl I love (And yes, she loves me too, just so you know :P) Anyways, thats great, because I was really bummed out about her leaving. But then, looking at it even deeper, this actually benefits more people than just me and her. My Mom absolutely hates living here, in Nowhere, NC. She desperately wants to move home to Massachusetts. The only thing keeping her from doing that, is me. If I left, she would be free to do whatever she wanted, which would make her happy, which is good.

I also took into consideration where I am right now. After thinking about it, I realized that there really isn't anything for me here. Sure, theres friends, but I already left them once before, so it would only be easier this time. Wow, that made me sound like a heartless bastard lol. Anyways, this place isn't going to take me anywhere. I have no reason to stay, and moving would only benefit me. Moving would be good, as it allows me to meet new people, have new oppurtunities, and generally start over. It helps that I really don't like living here. Theres absolutely nothing to do in this POS town, and I don't like living with my mom, for reasons that I won't state here.

If I went there, I would be living with my grandma and uncle, both of whom are absolutely awesome, and I love em. And between school, work, and other things, I probably wouldn't be home much, which means I wouldn't be much of a burden on them, hopefully.

Now, the only negative I could think of is, what if it didn't work out between us? I have thought about that a lot, and I have decided that even if we did end up seperating, I would STILL rather go to Florida than stay here. Wait, doesn't that make this, uh, not a negative? lol

But, the reason I have posted this, is because I would like to know what you guys think about the situation. I know you don't have too many facts about it, but I would still like to know your opinions. Any advice would be nice, and greaty appreciated.

Oh, and I guess that ended up being the "long story", although it could have been much longer lol.

Sorry if todays post was a bit of a drag, i'm just looking for some advice and opinions on this, if you have any.
Thanks for reading, and until next time, I'll see you later.

Feeling better+"Wanted" review

So, in yesterdays blog I mentioned how I was not feeling well at all. Last night was terrible, as I didn't start feeling better until this morning. Being sick sucks ass, haha.

But today was great. Slept till about 3, then woke up and made plans with friends to go to the movies. We skipped dinner and ended up seeing Wanted, because almost all of us had already seen The Dark Knight. That might sound like a bad thing, not seeing TDK. But Wanted was awesome itself, which was quite a shocker. Quick review time!

"Wanted" is perhaps the biggest surprise of the summer. I didn't expect anything from this movie, at all. I was TOTALLY wrong.
This movie ROCKED. Sure, the acting isn't great, blah blah blah. This movie is too much fun for that to matter. Yes, its over the top. Yes, its ridiculously violent. Yes, its awesome.

Scene after scene of jaw-dropping action sequences accompany a not-as-bad-as-you-might-think plot, and they combine to make this movie one hell of a good time. While the basic plot could be called "The Matrix" all over again, that isn't really a bad thing. The plot has it's fair share of twists and turns along the way, and they are pretty well-done. While you probably would never watch this movie for it's plot, you'd be surprised at how well-crafted it really is.

The action sequences here are about as good as it gets, quality wise. Car chases, shoot-outs, fights, everything you could think of is here. And these are done better in this film than just about any other I have seen. They are well choreographed and an absolute blast to watch. One particular scene had my jaw on the floor the entire time, and dammit if it wasn't one of the coolest scenes I have ever seen, then I don't know what is.

"Wanted" is just a fun movie, plain and simple. If you like having fun, I'm pretty sure you will enjoy this movie. I loved it, and think it is the best movie I have seen in a long time. Excluding TDK of course :P

"Wanted" Rating: B+   See it!

Not much to say today, hence the short blog. Until next time, cya.

"Boys Don't Cry" review, plus some other stuff.

So, at about 6 this morning, I was mighty bored, and falling asleep seemed impossible. So, i turn on the TV, and on one of the HBO channels, "Boys Don't Cry"  had just started. I had been interested in seeing this film, because I think Hilary Swank is an amazing actress, and she won an Oscar for her performance. So I decided to watch it, and here's a quick review.

Hilary Swank plays Brandon Teena, a young woman who is having a "sexual identity crisis". She was (obviously) born a woman, but wants to be a man. She also has a habit of getting in trouble with the law. One night, she decides to go out to a club (disguised as a man, of course), and makes some new friends.  few parties later, she ends up staying witht these friends for a little while.

While there, she falls for Lana (played by Chloe Sevigny). The movie basically deals with Brandon's struggle to keep her true identity a secret, and trying to live life as a man.  The film's strengths lie in its performances. Swank does an amazing thing: she convinces you that she is a man. I do not know of another actress who could pull it off as flawlessly as she did, and her Oscar was more than deserved. Every performance in the film is good, and its what makes the movie worth watching.

Not to say it's a bad film, because it isn't. However, it moves VERY slowly, and drags quite a bit in certain points. A few times I found myself looking at the clock, out of sheer boredom. The film swtches tones very sharply about 3/4 of the way through the movie. While I won't spoil anything, shit happens.

Overall, its an ok movie. With better pacing, and perhaps some editing to remove the more dull and pointless segments, this could have been a great film. And one more thing: This film is NOT for the feint of heart. No kiddies allowed. =P

"Boys Don't Cry" Rating: C+

Sorry for the shitty review, I had to think of something off the top of my head, which rarely works out lol. As you can see  =P

I'm not feeling so good...I have been feeling sick since earlier this afternoon, hence no TDK tonight...But tomorrow, I'm planning on going out to dinner AND TDK with my gf and some other friends, so that should be a lot of fun. I'm really hoping I start to feel better soon.

Thats about it for today....see you guys later. Have a nice night!

Time to stop letting opportunities slip by...

Have any of you ever had to make a life-changing decision? Actually, thats probably a stupid question. I'm pretty sure that some of you, if not most of you, have had to make this kind of decision before.  Well, that time has come for me.

I have the opportunity to change everything for the better, and I'm not going to let this one slip by...hopefully. I'm sure I'll talk about this more in upcoming blogs, but thats all I will say for right now.

I'm planning on going to see The Dark Knight again tomorrow,  which is definately a good thing, seeing as how the movie is amazing.

I watched a little movie called "10,000 B.C." the other day, and please, DO NOT watch this movie. This "film", if you could even call it that, is so bad that Id rather watch a blank screen for the 109 minutes the film runs. Please, please, avoid this movie at all costs. I would write a real review for the movie, but I would just be wasting my time. Do not see this film.

10,000 B.C. Grade: F

While I apologize for the lack of gaming-related talk in my blogs, theres really not anything to say....I still haven't touched a game in a while.

So, until next time, cya.

The 1st of (hopefully) many blogs.

So, it seems everybody has pretty much migrated to this here GiantBomb. Well, seeing as how it is my first blog here, I will introduce myself. My name is Rich, and like you, I enjoy video games. Granted, I'm not the hardcore gamer I used to be, but I do enjoy a good play session every once in a while. While I can't guarentee I will be a consistently active user here, I will try my best. The site is great, and I can definately see why people would prefer to come here over other sites.

Thats pretty much all I have to say at the moment, but I will try to keep this blog updated on a consistent basis.

Until next time, cya.
