Please, why is this being made about the duders challenging an opinion of a woman? People here constantly challenge the opinions of the rest of the staff.....
@passivespiral: Why would I rip on them for that when it makes sense? If you want to play Mario, you have to buy a Nintendo console/handheld. If you want to rip people apart as Kratos or shoot them as Nathan Drake, you have to go Playstation. That's how you get sales in the first place.
....and if you want to play any of the Microsoft exclusives natively in 4K, you buy an Xbox.
You make it seem like every gamer - "casual" and "hardcore" - has a PC capable of running games 4K/60fps.
@nicksmi56: people who don't have or don't want to build a pc?
There's just about no reason to buy this besides brand loyalty and backwards compatibility, and even then you can get all of those cheaper with just a normal One or a One S if you absolutely HAVE to own one.
Here are some reasons that immediately come to my head:
- I want to play new games natively in 4K on my 4K TV and I don't have a gaming PC
- I don't have a current gen console yet, and I have a 4K TV. All of my friends play on Xbox.
- I don't have a current gen console yet,, and I have a 4K TV. The Xbox / Win10 exclusives excite me more than the Sony ones. I want to play these games at their full potential
It is a bit absurd - especially after this conference - to say that there is NO reason to buy one.
Note the words "just about" in there. Obviously there are cases like you, because the One still has sales.
But in terms of competition with everything else on the market, the Xbox brand just put themselves at a huge disadvantage for no real reason.
You seem to be diminishing the number of "cases" like me. Your post is saying that Microsoft is giving the public reasons to buy this console, and that their claim that game exclusivity doesn't have any weight.
The Xbox One/Win10 games are exclusive in that they aren't offered on the other consoles. So people who want to enjoy these exclusive games natively at 4K/60fps - and don't have a gaming computer that can play these games at 4K/60fps - will be buying the console.

Jeff said "Gotta catch them all! The Psalms, I mean!"
When I was six or something, my Sunday School teacher asked me how many Psalms there are. Not knowing the answer, but being obsessed with Pokémon at the time, I "jokingly" answered 150. I expected my teacher to not only say I was wrong, but I also get my Pokémon reference for some reason.
Instead, she told me I was right, and I was blown away. And that's how Pokémon passively taught me something about the Bible.
But have you considered that perhaps the original games contained 150 Pokemon because of the 150 Psalms? And each Pokemon corresponds to an appropriate psalm?
Follow the money.
Weren't there 151 original Pokemon? Unless you don't count Mew.
