@Hailinel: This is what he said:

""I unfortunately used extreme examples in the heat of the moment and feel that my statements don’t actually communicate how I feel.""

This right here tells us that what he wanted to say was poorly phrased and made him look like a douche.

""My statements do not reflect those of Capcom or myself. The last thing I want to do is get them in trouble for giving me and the fighting game community the opportunity to have an amazing show like this.""

You are taking this statement here as some kind of false apology, when in reality its just him trying to separate what he said from capcom about his statements and that they have nothing to do on how capcom feels, he also tries to explain himself that the comments that are in the article isnt what he trully tried to express when he said it.

Then finally,

""Again, I am deeply sorry for offending anyone. This was a combination of the people taking things out of context and my own inability in the heat of the moment to defend myself and the community I have loved for over 15 years.""

His words, saying hes deeply regretful on what he said, he was in a stressfull situation where during the conversation he tried to explain his stance on a topic he feels very deeply about but the way he said it came out not has he intended.

@Hailinel: It does excuse him people say stuff or phrase things in ways that may make people seem like something they are not, are you so morally superior and can you honestly say you never said stupid things that you regret saying, he did come out and apologized about what he said and the way he said it especially when what he said during the show was taken as something completely different to what he really meant. Should he now be made be some kind of villain even after he showed remorse on what he said?

Theres also a lot of things that happened during the show and a lot of the blame and things that happened cant be put on solelly on Aris.

Was Aris and idiot for what he said, how he said it and when he said it? Sure.

Did he recognize what he said and apologized for it? Yes he did.

@CrimsonMoonMist: One persons words doesnt mean he talks for everyone and besides what he said was taken out of context, heres what he has to say on the whole situation:

http://www.twitlonger.com/show/g65iqn

"What I was trying to communicate is that mild hostility has always been a defining characteristic of the fighting game scene. Back when arcades were more prevalent, people didn’t like newcomers, and players needed to fight and pay their dues to get respect. The debate I was in was with a person who supported professional leagues, who have intent to censor the community to make it more accessible. I think the sink or swim mentality is something that defined our culture, and if that succeeds it removes something which has been important to help create some of the best fighting game players of our time. I was unfortunately unable to make this point clearly. Again, I am deeply sorry for offending anyone. This was a combination of the people taking things out of context and my own inability in the heat of the moment to defend myself and the community I have loved for over 15 years. "

Ok i just need to say my 2 cents about this.

First, Miranda enabled the guy, not only did she not say anything about his behaviour but she also took part and said some pretty retarded stuff (talking about korean p**** sizes and that she likes being hit on by black guys and other pretty stupid stuff) during all those days of the show, in all those days she was laughing, talking with Aris, engaging on his conversations even when they turned stupid, all the while without any problems, forget the fact that she also said she didnt give a damn about what he was doing.

Then we have Sherry, the girl that was part of the other team, shes personally acquainted with Aris and they are friends, she says hes a pretty good guy(a sentiment shared by the people at cross assault that know him by the way) but he can seem like a pretty rude and mean guy to the people that dont know him and has come out and said that the way Miranda acted to the whole situation was uncalled for, she also said that if Miranda said anything to him and said to him that she didnt like the way he was treating her he would have stopped, but none of that happened.

Heres the thing about the FGC, they all trash talk, just see any tournament streams or videos by so called "professional players" and you will see this and in a community that likes to talk trash on anyone it is true that people need to toughen up and not pay attention to the s*** thats flinged at them. Another thing his that the FGC is a pretty emotional one, they vibrate and live for the hype in matches, it is a competition, especially an action packed genre like FGs , the whole "Rape that b****" was only about a character in a game that was unfair and overpowered that people would make these kinds of comments in the heat of the moment isnt surprising, similarly the same can be said with "kill that guy" or "F*** him up", people say these things and they dont have any real malice intended, especially in competitive games.

Now about Aris himself, sure he should have controled himself more, but how things played out in all these days of Cross Assault isnt all on him, he isnt some villain that needs to be crucified, because besides the fact that he was insensitive, Miranda(Super_Yan) did go along with him and took part in all of his B******.
