Game I've Finished Part 4 (2023-)

List items

  • 12/30/22, All Endings. Technically last game of 2022. A nice way to cap off the year, tackling a long sitting backlog item. Not my favorite metroidvania, but one I can sense a lot of passion from that was pretty enjoyable from start to finish. Love the atmosphere in this one.

  • Lightfall Expansion

  • 6/18, Warmth and Light ending. Will definitely spend more time exploring this game beyond just one ending, and greatly looking forward to the sequel.

  • 7/3/23, Definitely up there in the top for this franchise. Happy to see a return to form for the series.

  • 7/13/23. Favorite game.

  • 9/17/23, True Ending. Up there in my top favorites for sure.

  • 9/30/23, Neutral Ending. True Ending will follow soon afterwards, love this game and everything it's trying to be. Sabotage Studio has another hit and I hope they continue to release games at this level because they clearly have both a passion and the talent for it. Incredibly excited for the DLC

  • 10/8/23, The End. Long time coming for this one, and I still feel mixed on it, but I think ultimately I feel positively about it for the world and what it accomplished for the time. It's a shame there's no official script fix for the English translation, but surely enough time is already being spent trying to put the Remake series in a good spot. Looking forward to playing the rest of the Remake series with this context.

  • 10/21/23, The End, Hard Mode, Standard Ending. Quite a polished little indie gem, albeit with a few rough edges. Charming story and presentation combined with super satisfying movement and fast-paced action really carry this game far. Doinksoft seems to be doing consistently awesome with their releases, giving me hope for whatever their next project might be. I hope they continue to gain more recognition as well.

  • 10/19/23, True End with the Silent. Took about 25 hours to get my first true ending run, but this game probably does the best job of scratching the board game itch in video game form for me. Happy to be able to play this regularly now whenever I just want to fill some time.

  • 1/9/24, first game of 2024.

  • 1/14/2024, favorite work of Jeppe Carlsen.

  • 1/21/24, another Ys game in the books. Nice to see a change of pace, loved Karja as a character, and it feels like a natural progression for the series. Having the gap filled between the original Ys games and Celceta was also an awesome setting for the game to be staged in. The environments were a little lacking and switch performance was really rough, but I'm hoping this means super positive things for the next game.

  • Future Connected DLC
