Hello ya'll!

I'm looking for an e-reader or tablet that's good at handling PDFs (highlighting, taking notes, etc. Maybe OneNote is good for that?). I have to study for my PhD orals and need something I can carry around with me that's good at organizing PDFs, etc. Anybody have any suggestions (or app suggestions)? I don't want to spend too much ($100-200). Thanks in advance!

I'm looking for a monitor that I can hook up a PSTV/PS4 to and play, but would also be good for connecting a Macbook Air to for use as a second monitor for PhD data work/reading. I don't play any games that require fast response times; mostly Fallout, stuff like Life Is Strange, etc. Will any monitor work for this? Is connecting a Macbook an issue? I'm mostly looking at BenQ and ViewSonic on Amazon, but I'm open minded for under $150-200!

When I turn on my PS4 it looks like this sometimes:

Turning it off and back on, or leaving it for about 20 seconds will make it go away. I turn on my PS4 before my TV most of the time. Is this an HDMI handshake that I've read a little about, or is it a serious PS4 issue? I don't see menu stuff or anything behind it. The PS4 is less than a week old, and the TV is only a couple months old.

@privodotmenit: what I mean with the retina thing is that I have never seen anything come close to having the text as crisp as a retina screen. I read a shit ton of research papers and the retina is the first screen that didn't bug me.

I know absolutely nothing about computer monitors, but I want something to hook up to my macbook air that looks better (video quality wise). I also do a lot of data entry for biological research, so I need something that is good to look at for general use, not just gaming. My budget is ~$500. I fucked up my macbook pro with retina, so I'm really missing the retina screen (I know a monitor cannot get anywhere close, but still). I also plan on mostly console gaming with it, maybe upgrading to PC gaming eventually. Size wise, I want something that fits on my desk without being super obtrusive.
