The demo features two levels, both set in arrid African locales. It's the same content that's been shown at various trade shows since last year, so you've probably at least seen these areas before--but I'm most curious to see the public response to the game's new Westernized control scheme. I like the direction it's going, but I'm not convinced it's enough yet.
Think Capcom can use feedback from this demo to further tweak the game's design, with only two months to go?

I've been playing the 360 Japanese demo for a while now. It's really fun!
I'll download if for PSN when it comes out though, since I'm getting the game for PS3.
I have already played this demo for 360. If its the one I am thinking about it is the first 2 levels? the game is really fun and intense and you really gotta plan it out if you play 2 players. The chainsaw guy in the 2nd level is tough as hell cause you need perfect timing to drop this cage on him for most damage. It is a lot of fun.
Excited = yes. If Brad mentions how the controls bug him one more time I will shove a copy of Dead Space down his throat.
I would rather just wait a bit longer and be able to play the full game. And I don't care if it's exactly like RE4, just in a new locale and with new characters. Don't fix what ain't broken.
Even if it's RE 4.5, it's enough to get me to play it. Considering most of us have played through RE 4 every which way possible since it came out 5 years ago, that's enough time to make me excited to play it even if it played exactly like RE 4. If it makes some changes fine but I don't know if I'd want it to play like Gears when every other game plays like Gears already. I trust Capcom since it seems they really know what they're doing lately when it comes to Western tastes. Their only turd recently was DMC, but that was just to appease the fanboys that got hard about it years ago.
I'm just hoping it has the length of RE 4, part of that games appeal was it was a great ride that didn't end too soon, you really got your money's worth.
i already can shoot a bunch of zombies in high def its called left 4 dead , and its way better than RE5 will be , but i still cant wait for RE5
I played the japanese demo and it's pretty much RE4 in Africa in broad daylight... and it's pretty much just a third-person shooter though for some obscure reason you can't walk and shoot at the same time. Capcom can't decide to make a shooter or survival horror, I will play the full version but I don't think I will like it very much.
I wasn't a big fan of the RE4 perspective that everyone loved - except for me. But after playing Deadspace, and loving the hell out of it, needless to say I'm now used to that viewpoint now. Although anxious for this demo to be released to the public, I still miss the Zombies and Hunters that made Resident Evil what it is today. What can I say I hate change.
This is about as badly handled as the Killzone 2 demo. My gooooood. Seriously, why release it first in Japan? I mean, I guess it could be to pull at the asian market which until recently has pretty much hated the 360, but still, at least release it 2 weeks before everything else. And demo's being a week sooner for Gold members doesn't actually get people to get gold does it? lol. I am just glad I know when its coming so I can get it =)
"I will shove a copy of Dead Space down his throat."
What, and waste a good copy of Dead Space? Give me the game, and I'll just slice him up with my salt knife ^.^
"i already can shoot a bunch of zombies in high def its called left 4 dead , and its way better than RE5 will be , but i still cant wait for RE5"You're comparing a fast paced, online-centric twitch FPS, to a slow paced, survival-action over the shoulder 3rd person shooter?
I've played the demo. My friend mysteriously passed a disk onto me and told me to put it when I wasn't connected to XBL. I did, and imagine my suprise when I saw it was a Japanese RE5 demo. It's good, but only if you liked RE4. It has two levels, and one is a blast to play over and over again! It basically just survive for 10 minutes, but that's not easy when you've got armies of undead plant monsters and a giant dude with an axe. However, they do somethings I don't like. The gameplay is solid, duh, but the inventory system is now in real time, and the inventory managment is completley gone. I really enjoyed that, and It kind of upsets me. Also, some of the action is really ridiculous. Sure, it's a game about zombies, it's not gonna be super realistic, but seriously. If your buddy is in trouble, you round house kick someone across the room, about 10 feet. Ok, I can see that, but why can't I do that whenever I want? Also, why is there a strafe in the game if you can't move when you aim? I dunno, it feels like an expansion with a major graphics overhaul. You can decide when the demo comes out. I wasn't the biggest fan of RE4, so maybe you should find someone else with the demo.
@ LiquidPrince
Really nothing. it plays pretty much just like RE4. except you can now strafe, but still not while shooting.
do not be fooled. You can download the japanese demo. Which is how I played it. And don't be fooled about the speed. The game is much much faster than resident evil 4 and much more intense. This one seems more into the shooting aspect cause lots of enemies will swarm you. if you are playing with 2 people and have played a part before you will have to make plans and position yourselves cause the african dudes will come at you really fast.
I haven't even played Left 4 Dead yet. I'm so damned behind. Fallout 3 has ruined my ability to keep up with all the games that are coming out. Damn you, Fallout 3!!!!
Already played it last year. It was technically from Japan, but it was completely in English, so I now have no reason to play this exceptionally late demo. :D
I really wish the PS3 demo was being released on the same date but it isn't any big loss. Still looks like RE4 anyway.
