I found this pretty interesting. Joystiq has an article and a hulu video embedded of an interview with Jimmy Fallon, which aired this week I believe. In the video Williams states that he's a fan of Call of Duty, and does an amusing impression of what children online act like. Furthermore, he says that he named his daughter after Princess Zelda, and named his son Cody after another game  (Final Fight?).

this is old news actually, I read an article about his love of online shooters from the late 90's of course I've lost the link. He also stated in that article as I recall that he was addicted.

He showed off SPORE in like 2007, which i found pretty funny (although hearing Robin Williams swearing is always a suprise to me), but yea..he's always been into games from what i can tell.

Yea it was in an old issue of Nintendo Power, but I never heard of the Cody bit before.  I always enjoy hearing him talk about gaming, like during one of the early Spore demos at E3.

 On April 30, 1989, he married Marsha Garces, his son's nanny who was already several months pregnant with his child. They have two children, Zelda Rae (born July 31, 1989) and Cody Alan (born November 25, 1991). However, in March 2008, Garces filed for divorce from Williams, citing irreconcilable differences.

Zelda was a popular name in Russia for a while. So I imagine plenty of people in Russia name their daughters Zelda. Foreign cultures sure are silly huh. "

When I have kids I may name them after the characters in my book. I would name my daughter "Kara," "Lynnette," or "Isha" and my son "Alec."

I have no problem with Robin Williams naming a child after Zelda or anything else. Zelda is a pretty beautiful name so it is good regardless of its context. And, besides his recent crap films, I still find Robin Williams to be awesome.

Well when you consider most comedians are what they are because they developed coping mechanisms for their other shortcomings, its not surprising at all to find out a comedian is into some nerdy stuff. Especially if its popular, because then they can form a bit around it.

Robin Williams has always been rather vocal about his love for video games, even before it was cool to be a gamer.  Then again, he was also a hardcore D&D player. 
 
During the filming of Man of the Year, he was using whatever free time he had to play Battlefield 2 on his laptop.  Before that, he had supposedly played the shit out of his laptop when he was filming One Hour Photo.  He said that to kill time (and have an excuse to stay indoors where there was heat) during the filming of Insomnia, he spent most of his time checking out "the new Xbox console". 
 
So yeah, dood's a hardcore gamer, no doubt.  He's also a really cool dood in person, and he'll keep you rolling.  Got to meet him in New York, just walking down the street.  It was weird!

The fact that Robin Williams has a wiki page is cooler to me than finding he is a gamer.

Actually saying you are a huge gamer and then justifying it by saying you play "Call of Duty" doesn't make much sense.

I think he's friends with Will Wright. I remember a few years ago, Will was showcasing the creature creator on Spore and he invited Williams to mess around with it. Knowing the man, hilarity ensues. They interviewed after that, I can't remember what he said but he's quite the gamer.

If you didn't expect the man who voiced the fuckin Genie in Aladdin not to be a gamer, theres something wrong with you.
