Hey there duders, I really can't recommend rust at the moment. I'm going to hang back on having a server until it's advanced a few more patches.

Since starting the server, I've spent a good portion of my free time fixing it, or responding to the requests from players.

BUT the duders are playing on the new Texas based one below, I suggest heading there if you want to play with fellow bombers.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I set up a server. - It’s in Australia.

EDIT: It seems like a lot of people in the US outside of Australia/NZ have been having a tough time recently. I'd recommend picking a server closer to home. Maybe try and ping 119.252.190.249 to see what kind of lag you'll be dealing with.

To connect press F1 to get the console up and plop this in.

net.connect 119.252.190.249:29035

BOOM! You should be in.

Uh oh. Potential server wipe. One of the comments says " incompatibility with oxide!!!!" so I'm not sure what the state of the GB server is, I couldn't get in just now.

@thesoutherndandy: They did a bug update last night or this morning I believe. Nothing that should wipe the server, right?

Well that's just inconvenient! - At work at the moment, will investigate in a couple of hours on lunch and update you on what's happening.

I just tried joining (from NY) and it said "Connecting" for about five minutes until I gave up. I'm trying again... anyone else having problems connecting? It says 2 people are in-game, but that number on the server list seems to be kinda unreliable.

Correction, I got in, but I'm now stuck in my house and cannot open any doors or storage boxes. Nor can I craft or eat.

Officially terrified to hop back on tonight only to discover my character, reborn, sans clothes, and items. Pray for DamnBoxes, duders.

Hey duders - restarting the servers, steam had some windy-pops for a moment there, but it's up now.

So thoughts about moving to a more centralized server?

Can anyone host in say, Asia or Europe?

I don't want to screw our gracious Aussie hosts, but the lag can be pretty unbearable.

Hey Pazy, the US is having a real tough time connecting to Australia today - I've edited my first post to reflect it.

I guess I can add the UK to that list too! - I just restarted the server again. Do you know what kind of ping you have? I just tried connecting to a US server, and the connection timed out for me too.

I seem to have a ping of about 300-350, using ingame and command line. Though my connection never times out instead I connect but I cant interact and I have no item/hands on show. I connected to an offical UK server and it worked fine.

@pazy The server is literally on the opposite side of the planet.

Take the time to read threads before you post. We're well aware of the lag issue and are looking into a solution.

In the meantime, hang tight, us GB brothers and sisters will reunite again.

I saw this thread earlier. I'm not sure if he's planning to have this public, or just us duders. But it's worth a shot.

I was aware of the lag issue but I didnt know if the issue I was having was related. I have only just purchased the game so it seemed better to ask than assume. I know now, thanks Charlie Boom, so Im waiting for an improvement.

As Sexy Toad mentioned another duder has set up their own server, might be best to check that out.

There are problems with sending ones and zeros to the other side of the world, but I completely understand where you're coming from @pazy, it's frustrating.

The only other thing I haven't tried is a server wipe. It's working fine for us here, but not for you guys it seems.

You're very welcome @biscuitsandtim - since turning it into a Vanilla server with no mods, it's fostered a really nice community of players from Australia and beyond. I'm going to keep it going.

Recently I've just been checking in every so often, going invisible and seeing what people have built. I'll start playing again after the next wipe.
