Some lame games aside this collection is pretty cool
Sega Genesis Collection is a great release for genesis junkys. This compilation includes 27 games and some are great but it also includes some worthless titles that dont really even belong here.
To start off this collection has near perfect emulation on all of the games in this colletcion. The only thing that will not be accurate is some of the music as they have changed some of it but it still sounds decent. The games that shine are sonic 1 & 2, Vectorman 1 & 2, Golden Axe 1 & 2 ,Bonanza bros, Gain Ground, Comix Zone, Shadow Dancer, Shinobi 3 and the phantasy star games. All of these games hold up very well and can be very enjoyable. The other games included are either decent or just lame. some games include Alex Kidd, Virtua Fighter 2 (Genesis Version), Golden Axe 3, Coumns, Flicky, the Eco series, Altered Beast and Heli attack. Though you might have some nostolgia for some so you might actually still really like some of the more worst games. Also included is some unlockable arcade titles like the arcade version of Altered beast or Zaxxon and other titles. It would of been nice to have the original virtua fighter but These are a nice edition to the game and give you something to play for
The Menu system in the game is very good looking and easy to use. It gives the genesis classic feel. All the visuals in the game are accurate and the game has a nice edition of letting you play on an hd tv and these games will still look good on HD TVs.
Using the PS2 controller all of these games control great with the D-pad or the analog stick. another nice edition is that you can remap the controls so you can play as you please.
Overall this collection is great. There are a couple of really lame games in this collection and the streets of rage series really would of benefited but with all of the great games in this collection its hard to pass this slick collection
