I'm not that big on Doi's art-direction for Shin Megami Tensei but I'm starting to get warmed up to it, and wasn't a fan of anything SMTIV. But I've really wanted to play Strange Journey, and a remake seems like a great opportunity for me to get started on it. It's a just bit weird we still haven't heard anything about a western release, not even an estimate like "Winter 2014" as per Atlus tradition. I know they've gotten Deep Silver to do the European publishing, don't know if they are still going through with that since their establishment of a European division.

I just hope we are getting some news soon.

Yeah, but that Radiant Historia remake is coming over here! Frankly, I think it's a better game. I liked SMTIV a good bit more than I liked Strange Journey. It's not bad, it just didn't grab me much. And there's way, way too much writing.

Right, that game has gotten a release but I'm not really interested in Radiant Historia, I'm interested in Strange Journey for its unique sci-fi setting instead of the same old post apocalypse. SMTIV was just ugh compared to its predecessor.

I thought this was about the Switch game at first. There's no firm release date for Strange Journey, but it's definitely confirmed for western release and has an estimated early 2018 release date, which is not unusual for Atlus. It took them until within a few months of release to even announce a western release of Etrian Odyssey 5.

Yeah, I think what's mostly odd about this though is that it doesn't even have an estimate, every other recent Atlus game at least had a more precise estimate. I just thought it would have a release date by now, especially Radiant Historia has one.

@thechris: It's most likely because they announced all those games at once, despite them actually having a staggered release. They'll probably announce a release date after Radiant Historia is actually released.

@zeik: Could be, it's a been 6 months since they made the announcement, Deep Silver would publish it in Europe but they've since established an Atlus Division in England so maybe plans changed in regards to the publishing. Don't know. I know that length of localizations are different from game to game, but still.
