Bakalar has brought on Minotti to try and finish what he and Tam started!

We play the oddest game of telephone by passing the actual controller around to the whole staff and trying to get through Alpha Protocol!

Jeff is such a hater. One Alpha Protocol is worth like ten Eternal Darknesses.

I like the arc of Jeff starting grouchy as hell about this game, and eventually having just a tiny bit of fun. Mike wouldn't let the grumpiness stand.

I like the idea of this series, but if it were to continue with another game when this is over, I would hope that they can start with goal of trying to actually care about anything they are doing, and not just looking for an excuse to riff on whatever thing is directly in front of them.

Not remembering anything about the controls or the story (or not getting enough info from the person before them) has led to people just not paying attention or trying to engage the what the game has actually wanted them to do at any given moment, and sometimes it's not very fun.

If this were a classic game of telephone, the equivalent would be if every person down the line just said 'screw it' and made something new up for the next person. At that point, what's the point of the game?

@badsmalltalker: yeah, I agree with this take. I'm enjoying the content and really liking the random pairings we've been getting, but it would be nice if there were any stakes for the player to care about their performance or for the other person on stream to actually take notes and pass them forward.

Jeff was refreshingly competent in this one with Minotti's guidance. It's funny that he learned more about playing the game from the passenger than he did from the creator of Matthew Rorie's Alpha Protocol.

@badsmalltalker: Yeah, exactly. I've only watched bits and pieces of this series for exactly the reasons you bring up.

The RSS title for this is just "11" which knowing nothing about how the internet works, I assume will do "numbers" for SEO.

This feature continually reminds me of Exquisite Corp, with the difference that there is no General Vinny reminding the Commanders of what their current side goals are and what each character can do. I am enjoying the hell out of the chaos and struggle of it all, but my suggestion for a season 2 would be a smaller pool of players so everyone gets more practice and has a greater stake in the story.

Or pick a game with far more freedom and have some way to give each other goals/missions. They probably won't go with an Alpha Protocol-like again, but I'd like to see an iteration on the idea.

I think the problem is that this is way too complex of a game mechanically, especially since some of the mechanics are pretty obscure and the controls take quite a bit of getting used to. Maybe for the future they can find a game that is more mechanically simple but still has the right amount of freedom, though I'm not sure what game would fit that criteria. Some Fallout/TES game might fit that, but they would probably also be way too long for this.
