Regarding the GOTY roundup: you can easily make a top 100 every year of only very good games if you consider the full breath of games that comes out, glad to see they did bring up some more during the process, it's easy to fall into the IGN school of GOTY discussion where it all revolves around a handful of the biggest AAA games.

I have yet to meet anyone who’s played the PS1 Eidos game “The Unholy War”, not counting people I’ve played it with in person. One of my favorite games of all time even now. The Jaeger unit saying “damage” and “ah ah ah system shitdown” is embedded into my brain forever as an iconic sound.

Please get Grubb a new microphone, his audio is extremely crackly.

@allthedinos: I also love The Unholy War. The hex grid mode and 3d isometric action combat are a really fun juxtaposition (though I prefer just the fighting). The Prana sound is iconic, the Jaeger death sound you mention and the stuttery arms falling animation accompanying the sound. Fire Witch (?) and Quicksilver injured and death sounds, Magus the lizard summoning crows. I name my hard drives after the fighters. Quicksilver, Brontu, etc.
