Giant Bombcast 821: REVENGEANCE

We had a bit of a light gaming week on account of being busy, but Jeff, Jeff, Shawn, and Niki are still here to give you a nice, long (and sometimes heated) conversation about what we predict PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo will do in 2024!

The Giant Bombcast is the world's most beloved video game podcast, and now it's available in video form.

Please stop doing this shoot/work stuff. It's so confusing and to me just feels like you're telling everyone "we don't want you here unless you're a hardcore wrestling fan."

Aw come on, really? It's no different than any other long-running podcast/video series/IRL group of friends/whatever developing it's own bit of slang or in-jokes. It's super common and you really don't need to have ever seen a second of wrestling to understand it because they've talked about it 100 times now. It's really not hard, shoot = real, work = fake. That's literally it, and that's coming from someone who hates wrestling. It's such a non-issue.. Also on a larger scale, that's literally just how language works. Words bleed through and transfer from one culture to another, just like how tons of videogame terms like "level up" have become common parlance that you hear everywhere. Let the guys have their fun. Part of the appeal of Giant Bomb is and has always been that they are a bit off-beat, idiosyncratic, and unprofessional. No-one is trying to exclude anyone, it's a bunch of dudes shooting the shit and having a laugh while they work, that's it.

The Korean BBQ thing... about throwing away the meat. I understand the restaurants actions in that people will sometimes KNOW the wrong thing was given to a table but people wont pay for it when they accept it. If that happens enough, the restaurant just has the policy of , if you didn't order it the table doesn't get it. Preying on a mistake is shitty, especially when they say, "This is your brisket" and not immediately saying, "We did not order that."

The Korean BBQ tradition of discarding excess meat. I can see why the restaurant would act the way it does; after all, customers will accept the erroneous item from time to time and refuse to pay for it.
