A good chair is one of those things I am fully happy spending a bit extra on. The durability and comfort you get in the pricier ones really shows.

Regarding self promotion, I hate it when people on YouTube spews out all the ways I can "interact" with them by following, liking and what not.

It feels soulless and shitty. If I really like their stuff, I'll find their facebook etc.

@SupberUber The audio quality wasn't very good in the previous videos...that's why he's using a mic. Why do you need to see Jeff's mouth? That's just creepy.

Very fascinating to hear you elaborate a little on playing import games. That's one of those classical insane gaming activities I never engaged in in that particular manner. I mean, I do have that watershed moment on pulling the trigger on Morrowind in English since the localization's release lagged behind like crazy and I needed to play that as soon as possible. But that was after learning the language for a couple years in school and the game came with an outstanding localized manual that also gave you English translation for all the core words like attributes, magic schools and the like.

And I still sat there for hours with the trusty Oxford Advanced Learner's dictionary and tried to make sense of it all. But still, English has characters I know and I had enough of an edge to systematically translate everything from context and I didn't have to try to intuitively fumble my way through it ... at least not entirely. Another outstanding episode!

Feels way less personal with that mic covering half of your face. I preferred the old way in that regard.

Yeah, get rid of the microphone. The sound quality was fine on all of the other videos, and then your face isn't covered the whole time...

Don't expect player counts to go up next generation unless Microsoft change the max-bandwidth-per-client requirements they put on games. (Yes, if you ever wonder why you're stuck to 12-16-24 maxplayers in your shooters while the PS3 has freaking MAG..)

Jar Time is my favorite feature on the site and I didn't find anything too disrupting with the microphone (the quality was very good), but I'm with the others and saying Jar Time feels more personal without it.

Jars and Jeff's dirty appartment isn't personal enough for you?

Sound quality > Seeing Jeff's face. I come to these videos for what Jeff says, not what he looks like saying it. If these videos aren't already personal enough for you without seeing his whole face then I don't know what to say. Although it seems that I'm one of the few people who treat this like a podcast (I download the video and then convert it into an mp3 for my iPhone using VLC).

Also, don't skimp out on your desk setup. This is one of those things that I think you should definitely spend a bit of money on, especially if you spend a lot of time at the computer. I've had some really unergonomic setups in the past and, trust me, that is pain that you don't want to have.

The fallout of the microphone will live forever, we are witnessing the fall of Rome!

Two things - first, your Youtube channel isn't just poorly optimized for SEO, it's plain old unsearchable. Like, when I search for the name of one of GB's videos I get NO results, which really stinks when I want to watch QL's on my TV.

Second, you're doing social media right. Don't listen to social media "gurus" that tell you otherwise. I get hired from time to time to handle social media duties for various companies and journalistic outlets, and I've done A LOT of research on, and work with Facebook and Twitter, and all of the advice I give everyone on the topic of social media marketing is "Be a human". By that I mean that it's important to interact with your viewers / fans / followers instead of just posting links to your content. To put it another way, talk with your audience, not at them, and Giant Bomb is already following that advice. Stay the course, and the rest will take care of itself.
