Unfinished: Atomicrops (09/11/2019)

This art style is super fucking familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. There is another game with similar enemy designs and overall look.

EDIT: I was thinking of Flinthook. Surprised to see there is no relation there.

This game seems alright but is there no other guns? Do you get stronger? Just seems like it would get boring using the same gun. Games like this need a haste upgrade so the combat isn't so slow. Maybe there is but didn't seem like anything from this quick look.

@bonelessspirit: Yeah now that you mention it, the Flinthook vibe is pretty strong. Almost like Flinthook x Nuclear Throne.

How do you make a game with barrel shaped enemies and don't have them explode on death?

I mean, less than 8 minutes into the Quick Look, Ben gets a shotgun-type weapon as opposed to the starting pistol.

Any one remember the game The Horde? reminds me of that.

Edit: Now I've watched more its very different but the protecting crops reminded me of it.

I love all the TV shows about farming, especially Silicon Valley!

I get faint Zombies Ate My Neighbors vibes from this. The color pallet is also Nidhogg II-ish...?

So it's a rip off of The Horde but with guns. Ok, got it.

I got to try the demo of this at PAX East earlier this year. I really liked it and this is showing a good amount of "growth" (heh). Definitely looking forward to this getting out of early access and coming to more platforms.

It feels so weird for a farming game to not be relaxed and regenerative, but also this looks fun as hell and oozing with style.

Those guns look extremely unfun to shoot. No camera shake, flat animation, gunshots that sound like slime, no environmental effects like shells or backblast. Yuck.
