I recently finished a 100% save on this. The added photo mode made finishing up the fucking mountain area far more enjoyable. Take only photos, leave only footprints (and damaged cargo).

This helped put me to sleep. Thank you, genuinely, for aiding in a night's rest.

I think the zip lines in this are my favorite mode of transport in a game.

Really just blows my mind that the concept of Death Stranding was a ridiculous joke 7 months ago, and now we're at least (very vaguely) living it in real life.

I might still try this when it comes to PC because there's something about the core gameplay loop that I find oddly intriguing, but based on everything I've heard I want zero to do with the actual story.

They should add a No Story Mode where you can just roam the world making deliveries without having to suffer through all the other bullshit!

I know the story is really dumb (imo), but has anyone beat the game purely from the gameplay? Was that part of the game interesting enough to be sustainable? I'm thinking of picking it up on PC when it comes out.

@archnite: The mountains are a nightmare at first but then you meet someone and unlock new gear that make them a lot easier. This is actually a very satisfying loop the game repeats - introducing you to something new, making you suffer through it once, then giving you tools to circumvent it.

The story showed a lot of promise but fizzled out near the end - that said the atmosphere was really great. The set dressing and everything around it I found really intriguing. Overall I'm pretty pro-Kojima so I thought it was a really interesting thing he made. If nothing else I am really curious about his next project.

This was great. I really love this game. I know that I'm in the minority, and while do I agree with most criticisms towards the game (writing, lack of variety in mission design, shooting sequences, etc.) the strengths of this game are so high for me. I just find it so mechanically rewarding and satisfying and simply beautiful to explore. The art design and what the development team created in terms of just graphics is really remarkable.

@humanity: I totally agree. Felt a great sense of pride helping to build a Zip-Line network that spanned the entire mountain region. Hours of preparation. So that I could reliably make deliveries to the First Prepper is an experience I'm glad existed.

As for the next Koji-Pro project I really hope it's not open world because I feel the structure does not fit at all with why past games were at least enjoyable.

@mattchops: I thought the game play was very compelling, from controlling the character to making deliveries and especially in the mountains once you get over how intimidating they are and start setting up ziplines.

On the story front I sort of thought it was stupid but interesting at first but once I got more into it and learned more about the characters I really liked it.

I recognize that this game takes a million hours to play through and the Giant Bomb crew have other games they need to play and review, but this game is so much better than any of them gave it credit for. I have a hard time explaining to people what this game is, or why I loved it so much. I watched this entire video with a giant grin on my face.

Hearing Ben starting to come around and enjoying it was super nice. I hope he streams more of it.

I almost assuredly would have made this one of the very few games I've platinum'd...if none of the trophies were related to BTs and I could turn off the BTs once the story had concluded. At the very least, I'd have completed every single delivery and tried to finish all the roads.
