I really like this idea for a feature. Maybe not for smaller games but for the big releases, yes!

First 12 minutes and Dan has already referenced all his cultural touchstones. Wrestling, Metal Gear Solid, and 80's action movies.

Same, going in dark but gonna watch this when I played a bit for myself first.

Game looks really great, but enemies 'popping up' for combos looks jarringly out of place and cartoonish in a game that otherwise seems very grounded (excuse the pun)--or at least, much more so than its predecessors. I can forgive the throwback, though!

Less than 13 minutes in and I shed a single tear.

Looking forward to watching this after the weekend. But between the reviews and discussions I'm all-in on this game and gone into media blackout.

this game is fucking great

I feel like a number of the older quick looks were like this some years ago and I always liked this format. To me there are a lot of games better served by getting to see the opening fresh, rather than having someone experienced go in and explain all the menus in detail and try to dance around story beats later in the game. I know it doesn’t work for every type of game but for this it’s great. I’ll be avoiding the quick look proper and just watching this.

Love this feature. My favorite QLs are blind plays anyway, so more of that is great. (and distinguishing this from the GoW QL, there's a lot less hanging around in menus to explain what skill trees are and such)

I watched Waypoint stream from the beginning earlier today and stopped watching at a point that Austin warned was the first big story beat. This video ends right before that point, so there's not really any story in it besides the general set-up. I'd say it's fine to watch.

I've heard rave reviews on the visuals of this game but this intro was not that spectacular. Was pretty par for a big title and you could see that frame rate struggling in the first 20 minutes. Didn't seem bad during the final fight of the video. Seems like a decent game but not 5/5.

This is exactly what I want from GB. "Quick Looks after the fact", i.e. when the game is already finished, are much less interesting as far as video content goes.

Is this really how Dan plays, because this is crazy having him hug every wall back and forth. I'm shocked he finishes stuff. However, awesome idea for a series if they decide to do this more.

This is a great idea, especially for big games like this one. If you have more chances to do them, and feel like recording them, I would really like it as a viewer. :)
