Isaac and Nicole are just dating. Not married yet. There are multiple AMVs on YouTube dedicated to their relationship, though. That's how you know it's serious.

No joke, I actually love the lore for this series and think the first two games do have some really beautiful moments. Isaac had a good arc, if you pretend 3 didn't happen.

This is great! Should do a Fear or Outlast play through.

"One of the spiders had a blazer" needs to be a Giant Bomb out of context tweet immediately.

FYI you never really need oxygen (there's always refills around) so you can store the canisters to free up inventory space. Leg day jokes aside, the reality is a bit more complex. Many men only focus on their upper body because they think it's what'll increase their physical attractiveness the most (and the upper body is also VERY responsive to steroids). From what I've read, women are actually quite fond of men with nice butts. Legs can also be much harder to grow because of how picky they are with regards to exercise choice, particularly if you have longer levers (you're really tall with more leg than torso). Protip: If you're built like slenderman, consider doing leg presses, leg curls, and other lower body exercises that aren't necessarily squats and deadlifts. They may end up being much better for your long-term muscle gains. And safer on your lower back too.

Vinny’s game idea sounds a lot like The Sexy Brutale, except in that game you are trying to stop murders in a time loop instead of solving engineering problems. Great game if you haven’t played it!

I founplaying this game with others has kinda ruined the horror part of the game. I remember it being less jump scares and more an eerie tension in between save points. Also @ybbaaabby should be able to do a melee attack by hitting RT alone without aiming (if I am remembering correctly).

So did Abby miss all the guns? I vaguely remember the Force Gun was a sort of shotgun, and the Contact Beam was like a super laser.

Those Crash Test Dummies cartoons came from the many serious/comedic PSAs that were made long ago. I guess they tested well with many viewers. That phrase "You could learn a lot from a dummy. Buckle your seatbelt(safetybelt)" is forever carved into my brain because of them. The cartoon version never really held my interest.

@baconbits: The force gun was introduced in the sequel, but the contact beam is here. This game limits you to 4 weapons at a time and not enough nodes to upgrade everything, so there's no point in buying everything unless you're just testing out all your options. I think that spreading out the upgrades over 4 weapons is a big reason Abby is finding some of these combat encounters annoying. If you prioritize a couple guns and focus on upgrading them ASAP, you'll have something meaty to break out when the game throws a tough room at you.

Not saying Abby is playing wrong; the game doesn't guide you towards this tactic aside from the achievement for finishing the game with only the plasma cutter. Funnily enough, I think that's the easiest way to play Dead Space. You gain enough money by selling unnecessary items/ammo and can end up with a fully upgraded cutter within the first few hours. It's a crazy versatile weapon.

They could've made a better introduction to the guns, and I think it's something they remedied in 3. As it stands, they don't really show you how they can be utilized. The contact beam is amazing and would be super useful in the moments where Abby burns through ammo mopping up weak but aggressive enemies. She has no way of knowing that without buying the gun and trying it out, which wastes valuable currency, inventory space, and introduces a new ammo drop into the rotation. It's a big ask. I only learned what guns suit my play style by playing through the game multiple times.

Dead Space is my favorite game, but it's not without flaws. Some were improved in the sequels, while they also introduced new issues of their own. I do think Abby would enjoy Dead Space 2 more. Environments, setpieces, utilization of your suit's abilities, enemy variety, characters. Dead Space 1 to 2 is like Alien to Aliens.

Yeah, Pixar lost a ton of people during that Cars era. At least Ghibli knew to pull a Sanrio.

Regarding the discussion about revering early 3D graphics around 1:07:xx, I had a friend in elementary school who told me that the graphics in (the original) Final Fantasy VII were "better than real life"

@jbourne37: The Force Gun is in this game. It's been in the shop for her for a while but it's greyed out so she probably just glances past it not realizing.

It's my favorite gun in the game so I hope she uses it eventually.

@haxdax: weird, I have no recollection of using the force gun in Dead Space. I last played it in October. I'll take your word for it, though. I stick to plasma cutter, line gun, and contact beam. Never really bother with a 4th gun.

I just looked up Taco's Puttin' on the Ritz since I never heard of the guy and .... wow... One of the first things is a couple of people in blackface. That didn't age well.

I was shocked that it took this long for Abby to get instant-killed by a wall guy. I think it happened to me the first time around and I realized you had to keep your distance.

And for people criticizing Abby's weapon choices, her reliance on the buzzsaw is generally considered pretty high level play, as it's the most ammo-efficient gun in the game.

Looks as though this is where Abbys attempt to rush every confrontation is making the game frustrating. Had to come eventually.

@beard_of_zeus: Absolutely second your promotion for The Sexy Brutale. <3

Started of light and fun with puzzles and a groundhog-dayesque loop, ended leaving it's feels inside me to this day. A very memorable and highly enjoyable experience. :-)

Wait wait wait ✋ Abby thought she could have a career in comedy without knowing anything from the Zucker Brothers?
