Pretty good game, though oddly enough I actually enjoyed "Miner!" for the Commodore 64 better in spite of its extremely rudimentary graphics. A bit of a precursor to Minecraft I guess. I haven't played it in ages so I'm not sure how it holds up.

For everyone's info, I don't think the emulator on the company's website works with W7.

Games title reminds me of that grandaddy song Miner at the Dial A View. Good band.

Was confused by the name. Now I'm off reading about the California Gold Rush.

It's fun and educational!

This game was so good. It's really not that to play all the way through once you get the jumping down and understand what distances you can fall from, and how to step just enough on a part to 'paint' it. Still can recall, the excitement of each new stage, figuring out it's gimmick, loving how the teleporters did the star trek style transport effect, etc etc etc.

The 5200 version was identical, but as Jeff alludes to, the non centering 360 degree joystick of the 5200 made some of the jumps and stopping in the right place a nightmare unless you were very careful.

To this day, I still think of this game as Miner 649'er.

Because the British Columbia Lottery was the Lotto 649, I think?

Anyway, this game was my shit back when my dad brought a IBM 5150 PC back from California. It was the two floppy drive, no hard drive kind, just made for copying that floppy.

We had this game, some Circus game where you were being chased by pudgy clowns, BC's Quest for Tires, Digger, a big book of games you had to TYPE IN YOURSELF before running, and Lode Runner. It was the first computer I ever used. Hope Jeff will do more Bombasticas from my old game collection!

I can't stop looking at the mule in the box art.. It looks like an enabler for Bounty Bob's obvious drinking problem. It's bumming me out.

Oh, man. Atari games. Blocky. Clunky. Janky. But, god damn, you were controlling a moving character on a tv screen. It was freaking amazing at the time.

I played a TON of this game when I was young on a Colecovision. This and Time Pilot hold a very special place in my heart.

BEEEEEPBOOOOOOOO BEEEEEEEEEPBOOOOOOO

Fuck that sound though.

I came here to hate on that sound. Glad I wasn't the first :)

Is this game somehow related to Jumpman on Commodore 64? It looks very similar.

It's kind of like Chuckie Egg in a way, except not as complicated. Perhaps it's just the style reminds me of Chuckie Egg.
